DIRECT REPORTING: Senior Quality Manager


FUNCTIONAL REPORTING: Director of Operations


POSITION DETAILS


Position Summary


The Quality Systems Manager is a crucial part of our team, responsible for managing Quality Assurance and Technical Compliance activities that directly enhance process improvement and adherence to internal manufacturing controls. The role involves the routine monitoring of procedures, storage of documented information, performance of internal audits, managing workflows, and addressing quality assurance issues as they arise. The Quality Systems Manager is Customer Facing and creates, monitors, and finalizes internal corrective actions, ensuring response timelines are met. They are instrumental in developing controls and analytics to improve processes. Regular interaction with cross-functional teams is required to maintain open communication between the QA team, Leadership, and other functional teams within the facility. The Quality Systems Manager also maintains and reports relevant metrics for the QA department.


Principal Activities


  • Identify training opportunities based on updates to SOP and Work Instructions.
  • Report any problems or difficulties to the Director of Manufacturing Operations.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the company.
  • Develop and administer the Change Control system and associated controls.
  • Lead, conduct, and participate in quality system, process, and product audits.
  • Ensure the proper control and storage of appropriate records, and manage the filing of controlled documents.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned by management.
  • Assist Quality Control personnel in updating department standards.
  • Support problem-solving teams to identify root causes and develop corrective/preventive action plans.
  • Maintain weekly metrics and achieve KPIs associated with the CAPA system.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities


  • Resourceful, well organized, and adept at problem-solving.
  • Demonstrated analytical, critical thinking, and strategic skills.
  • Strong understanding of Process Improvement methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of the functionality of an ERP system.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Result-oriented, with demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage through influence.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multi-faceted projects in a rapidly changing environment.


Education/Certifications


  • Five plus years’ relevant experience in hands on manufacturing
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Mechanical Engineering or 10+ years' experience in a machine shop environment in a Quality role in lieu of a degree
