Job Description
What to Expect
The Employee Relations Partner conducts investigations into employee relations concerns and supports overall positive workforce engagement. The successful candidate will provide guidance, support, and make recommendations to resolve employee relations concerns. This position is both hands-on and strategic to provide investigative and employee relations expertise. This position can be based in Fremont, CA; Austin, TX; Reno, NV or Buffalo, NY.

What You’ll Do
  • Communicate regularly regarding pending investigations and provides timely investigation reports with supporting documentation for all completed investigations
  • Use effective interviewing and documentation techniques and utilize the designated online case management tool for tracking
  • Create and update HR policies and procedures that pertain to employee relations; conduct trainings on compliance with policies and procedures
  • Conduct investigations in response to a range of employee relations concerns, including harassment, discrimination, retaliation, workplace violence, and other violations of rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Analyze employee relations trends with Leadership and help develop proactive strategies, solutions, programs and policies
  • Develop effective relationships with HR Business Partners to promote positive employee relations throughout the organization to ensure a high level of employee satisfaction and engagement
  • Partner with Legal team in conducting investigations and HR leaders to provide counsel and facilitate prompt and effective resolution of workplace concerns
  • Participate in projects led by the Employee and Labor Relations team as needed
What You’ll Bring
  • Ability to build strong working relationships across all levels of the organization, including remote areas
  • Experience successfully implementing programs across geographically distributed teams
  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or 5 years’ experience workplace investigations (preference for experience investigating allegations of harassment, discrimination and retaliation); Master’s Degree/ JD preferred
  • Knowledge of federal, state and local laws, statutes, which govern employment policies and practices
  • Strong business acumen
  • Evidence of exceptional ability
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; must be an articulate and persuasive communicator
  • Thorough understanding and application of internal and external HR principles, concepts, practices and standards
  • Excellent planning, organization and time management skills, attention to detail, ability to handle multiple tasks, and work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment
  • Ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex, difficult, and emotional issues
