Job Description
Salary Range:
Salary Minimum:
$225,000.00
Salary Maximum
$431,250.00
Main Objective:
Lead activities related to federal and state tax planning, usage of credits, employee benefits, domestic and international legal entity structuring, federal and state tax controversies, special projects and legislation, working closely with peer groups responsible for tax accounting, reporting, and international tax planning.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Identify, analyze, and implement tax planning opportunities.
Manage SALT team covering sales/use, GST/VAT, and property taxes, as well as backup withholding, unclaimed property, 1099 and 1042 reporting.
Oversee transfer pricing team to maintain efficient and defensible intercompany compensation arrangements.
Support Business Development initiatives including new business initiatives and M&A.
Assist Investment management team in various tax advantage opportunities such as opportunity zones, tax loss harvesting, offsetting unrealize gains/losses, active and passive loss analysis, bonus deprecation, etc.
Lead team in developing programs to claim and support WOTC, R&D, local incentives and other tax credits.
Partner with and advise groups responsible for employee retirement plans and fringe benefits.
Communicate and advise on implications of emerging tax issues and tax impacts arising from new business initiatives.
Work with and partner with Global Grants and Charitable Giving on tax treatment of planned donations.
Advise business partners regarding tax consequences of transactions involving specific legal entities and recommend most efficient alternatives. Simplify structure where feasible.
Identify and investigate opportunities for reducing various federal and state taxes.
Participate in the defense of the Company’s federal and State tax filing positions with minimum possible financial statement and cash flow impact and develop the necessary support for positions taken.
Build relationships with various stakeholders, including External Reporting, Treasury, FP&A, Accounting, external service providers and auditors.
Analyze proposed federal and state legislation and partner with industry groups to advocate for the Company’s positions.
Partner with external tax advisors and preparers on strategies to minimize overall effective tax rate for Sub-Chapter S, Partnership, Flow through, and various disregarded entities.
Analyze the use of check the box classification for new and existing international subsidiaries (CFCs)
Continuously review overall Family Office entity organizational structure for potential tax savings opportunities.

Education and Experience:
A Bachelor of Science in Accounting or Finance or LLM in Taxation required.
CPA certification is preferred.
10 years of related tax planning and compliance experience is required.
A broad knowledge of US tax laws and regulations covering a wide range of taxation matters including Corporate, partnership and flow through taxation both domestic and international is required
In-depth understanding of State and local taxation along with transactional based taxes is required.
Advanced Federal tax technical expertise, particularly in the areas of research and planning and audit controversy required.
10 years of people management experience is required.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to message effectively to senior management and non-tax professionals.
Strong interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate, develop relationships and partner effectively across the organization and with external auditors.
Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects and maintain high level of attention to detail.
Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:
PCs, database, and general office equipment
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
