The Company
Rescue is a full-service marketing agency with a mission to make healthy behaviors easier and more appealing. Since our founding in 2001, Rescue has been exclusively focused on researching, developing, and implementing positive social change campaigns in public health. We provide research, strategy, creative, production, web, traditional media, social media, policy change, youth engagement and experiential marketing services to government, non-profit, and healthcare clients in over 35 states and provinces, as well as to federal government agencies.
Rescue’s health behavior change marketing campaigns focus on topics such as tobacco, obesity, substance and alcohol prevention; the promotion of exercise, eating healthy foods, early childhood development, and after school programs; and other topics that promote healthy living. Rescue’s behavior change campaigns focus on diverse populations within teen (13 - 17), young adult (18 - 26), and adult (18+) populations in both rural and urban areas, resulting in a wide variety of campaign styles and strategies.

The Job
We are looking for a dynamic, high performing Associate Director, Strategy with a passion for tobacco prevention or cessation to understands the landscape to support our multiple clients. To be successful, you’ll have end-to-end tobacco and ad agency strategy experience, spanning from initial data digging and research through developing briefs, presentations and papers. You will excel at using measurement and analytics to convince clients of new ideas, and you will be skilled at guiding research, creative and clients along the way.
Day-To-Day Activities:
  • Present and discuss work both internally and externally
  • Inspire and guide creative teams based on strategies listed above
  • Work with Comms Planners to integrate Comms frameworks and messaging
  • Collaborate on campaign objectives and KPIs
  • Outline messaging architectures - what a brand will say, over time
  • Delve into quant trackers & data to find the hidden gems that can prove your theories; use a combo of quant, qual, and cultural trends to tell a story
  • Work with, partner with and inspire across teams
  • Determine behavioral health outcomes / goals for our campaigns
  • Partner and connect the dots cross-channel, to ensure the development of cohesive communications plans, strategies, and programs
  • Develop clear, succinct creative briefs, decks and papers for new and existing brands
  • Meet with clients to listen, present and discuss strategic point of view
  • Ensure brand & assets are on strategy and appropriate for our audiences, behaviors and clients
  • Provide insights, facts and ideas for the team to work with as necessary
  • Develop strategic positionings for tobacco-related public health brands, and see those strategies across all campaign elements, analytics and evaluation
  • Clearly outline qualitative and quantitative research needs
  • Love working with a smart, on-it account team
  • Believe that partnering and collaborating will get you to the best work

Required Qualifications:
  • Extensive writing experience to guide creative teams;
  • Experience presenting to and talking with clients;
  • Ability to learn about & understand a wide range of points of view
  • 10 years relevant experience OR Bachelor’s Degree +5 years relevant experience OR Master’s Degree +3 years relevant experience;
  • Ad agency experience preferred;

Status: Full-time
Pay Range: $85,000-$105,000 per year. Actual compensation is dependent upon a combination of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, level of education, and location.

Environment:

COVID-19 Vaccine Mandate:
All employees hired must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to their first day of employment. This includes employees who telecommute and work remotely. For Pfizer or Moderna, that is two weeks after an employee has received the second dose in a 2-dose primary series. For Johnson and Johnson (J&J)/Janssen, that is two weeks after an employee has received a primary single-dose.
Physical Requirements:
Able to remain in a sitting position for prolonged periods of time and stoop, bend, reach, climb stairs, and move freely throughout the building for the performance of duties. Able to read from a computer or laptop monitor for several hours at a time including fonts of various sizes from a variety of sources. Able to travel nationwide as needed to meet with clients, coworkers, or attend meetings and seminars.
