Overview
The Senior Director, Fulfillment Operations will have full accountability for a multi-customer operation, customer service, leadership, safety, employee morale, and continuous improvement for a large and high-volume fulfillment center. This position will oversee day-to-day operations for a multi-customer site, and have full accountability for all financial performance results, and adherence to all company policies. This role will ensure the most efficient and effective processes are practiced while working with clients to exceed their business needs
Responsibilities
- Manages value-added services which may include call center, reverse logistics, kitting and assembly
- Manages relationships with vendors and corporate functional teams
- Uses a collaborative approach, continuously evaluates, measures and refines processes to improve service, quality, and efficiency
- Provides strategic leadership and guidance to develop, coach and mentor staff
- Ensures company procedures, policies, and culture are executed and practiced effectively
- Improves employee satisfaction through improved working conditions, proactive communication and prompt reaction to concerns
- Works closely with sales in support of new client solutions, pricing, facility tours and customer presentations
- Maintains strong safety and facility cleanliness programs in compliance with all OSHA and company requirements
- Provides leadership and direction for the fulfillment team
- Demonstrates a strong understanding of systems to include WMS, CRM, OMS, TMS, etc.
- Leads and supports the implementation of new and upgraded systems as required
- Identifies new business opportunities and implements new solutions within the existing customer base
- Improves customer satisfaction through building strong relationships, service levels and quality
- Incorporates LEAN practices and methodologies
- Provides timely and accurate reporting and ensures accurate billing
- Ensures compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements
- Creates and manages the location financial budget
Qualifications
Education/Experience
- Experience partnering cross-functionally with HR and support team like IT and Engineering
- Prior automation experience strongly preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics, or related field preferred
- Heavy experience in client-facing roles, preferably in a 3PL environment
- Change management/project management experience
- Must possess 7-10 years of leadership experience, 5 of which must be in a multi-channel order fulfillment business environment
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Ability to perform complex business analysis and excellent decision making
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office including: Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Demonstrates excellent team leadership
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups inside and outside of the Organization
- Demonstrates a solid understanding of business financial management (budgets, profit and loss, forecasting/planning)
- Must have working knowledge and experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Order Management Systems (OMS), Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and parcel management systems
- Demonstrates strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Ability to think critically about existing processes and technology solutions
- Ability to analyze and properly interpret policies and contracts
