General Summary


This individual will lead DG’s strategic initiative relating to the company’s urban footprint, along with providing business and financial analytics and insights for the pOpshelf brand.


Duties & Responsibilities


  • Evaluate Dollar General’s core competencies and competitive position and make recommendations on how best to compete in heavily populated, urban locations and determine the best deployable asset – i.e. DGX, DGU format
  • Provide guidance on product mix, location, pricing, and other strategic decisions in metro markets.
  • Responsible for daily, weekly, and ad-hoc reporting to support the pOpshelf merchant team, marketing, and store operations.
  • Serve as an organizational expert on retail and customer trends specifically relating to densely populated, urban locations.
  • Participate in financial planning for pOpshelf brand
  • Build consensus across multiple functions, including but not limited to, Merchandising, Supply Chain, Real Estate, Store Operations & Finance.
  • Lead cross-functional team responsible for evaluating Dollar General’s strategy for urban locations.

Work Experience and/or Education


Bachelor's degree required. MBA preferred. Minimum of 7-10 years of experience with 5 or more years in a large multi-unit retailing company with a significant urban presence.
