Job Description
Role: Sr. Communications Advisor


Duration: 12+ months


Location: Washington, DC (On-site)


SCOPE


Assist Strategic Leaders in expressing their strategic priorities, initiatives, and change management programs by offering communication guidance and assistance.


Required Skills


  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills ability to build highly effective working relationships and confidently liaise with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a deadline driven environment and adapt communication styles to meet audience needs.
  • Masters in Public Health required
  • Ability to build highly effective working relationships and confidently liaise with stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong strategic approach to communication activities and complex issues.
  • Experience managing and motivating a small team to meet key milestones and deliverables.
  • 15+ years in health communications experience required
  • Federal communications experience required (DoD or VA preferred)


TASKS


  • Develop and maintain communications governance guidelines on quality, style and format. Ensuring that guidelines are adhered to.
  • Develop and implement effective communication plans, in line with the VHA and Functional communications strategy.
  • Build and maintain trusted stakeholder relationships.
  • Provide quality advice and support to strategic leaders, business partners and project owners on effective communications including content for presentations, events, speeches, and key initiatives.
