Nationalgrid Platforms are mission critical utility solutions built by a different agile team. Our teams are pushing the frontiers of digital technology and are in the process of operationalizing, scaling the products, and establishing a digital platform approach.

We are looking for a professional who has
  • Experience developing infrastructure as code using Terraform
  • Solid experience with cloud solutions - Azure
  • Experience with continuous integration/continuous-delivery - CI/CD
  • Experience with Database technologies to pull data (SQL/NoSQL and similar languages)
  • Experience with Agile Lifecycle tools like Confluence and JIRA and or Azure DevOps
  • Experience automating Cloud-based applications and services
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting
  • Experience with networking and protocols.
  • Experience with Windows, containerization, and container orchestration like Kubernetes
  • Experience with one or more of Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Ansible, and terraform

Key Accountabilities

  • Be highly visible in the communities of practice at nationalgrid, build and sustain good working relationships with development teams and involve them in the overall application and platform strategies
  • Shepherd key initiatives of interest such as migration to new high-availability topologies, volume growths, and adoption of emerging platforms
  • Manage pipelines and deployments
  • Work closely with the development, QA, and product teams ensuring a smooth integration and deployment of applications and services
  • Identify and implement CI/CD methodology and philosophies for existing and new applications and services
  • Mentor and guide architects and tech leads on design, code standards, and performance.
  • Evaluate, document, and propose new solutions to advance the team, applications, and services

About You

  • 5+ years’ experience working in Automation and DevOps.
  • 5+ years of Design, implementation, and support of highly distributed setups (ensure high availability and reliability).
  • Expert skills with PowerShell scripting and reading/analyzing Web technologies such as JSON, HTML, JavaScript, XML, jQuery, etc.
  • Hands on skills with CI/CD and build automation tooling (Terraform, Ansible, etc.).
  • Using GitHub version system experience is a plus
  • Experience in successfully deploying Platform as a Service (PaaS).
  • Have excellent problem-solving skills utilizing both internal and external resources to get the job done.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for Cloud and Automation.
  • Believe in 100% automation
  • Working experience with federated IdP.
  • Excellent problem solving and debugging skills.
  • Willingness and appetite for continuous learning.
  • Self-starter, motivator, and ability to work within a Team and solo.
  • Strong experience in configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Microsoft based production systems.
  • Strong understanding of cloud, automation, and infrastructure.
  • Requires ten (10+) years of experience. Requires a bachelor s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
  • A strong understanding and practical experience in planning and delivering cloud migration projects from traditional on-premises deployment models.
Salary


$126,000 - $148,000 a year
