Job Description

Key Role:

As a Sports Nutritionist you will provide general nutrition information on practices to combat poor eating habits, optimize performance and enhance recovery for Marines. Responsible for planning, directing, and conducting general group nutrition education to enhance the overall health and performance of Marines. You will perform administrative duties within your scope of practice.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Ability to advise on nutrition recommendations for personnel who fail to attain satisfactory standards on their fitness tests or body composition program tests
  • Experience developing research-based nutrition education resources including content libraries, presentations, and various types of training materials
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
  • 4+ years of experience working in the collegiate, professional, or military sector of human and sport performance
  • Bachelor's degree in Dietetics or Nutrition
  • Knowledge of military resilience programs and the unique nature of the military including stressors, lifestyle factors, training demands, and work schedules that contribute to poor food choices or limited food choices
  • Experience with group education to enhance health and performance including with topics such as supplement education, meal timing, hydration needs, performance plate construction, pre/intra/post-fueling strategies, meal planning, enhancing recovery, combating poor eating habits, weight loss, fueling while in the field or for shift work, how to eat in various dining facilities, and how to eat healthy on a low-budget
  • Precision Nutrition (Pn), The International Sport Science Association (ISSA), or The International Society of Sports Nutrition (ISSN) Certification
  • AED and CPR Certification
  • Knowledge in nutritional teaching, coaching, and advising to provide comprehensive and holistic nutritional programs utilizing current, science-based trends and best practices within the tactical community

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with gathering, assessing, and displaying of data to provide program Stakeholders with usable information to evaluate the performance and force readiness of human performance optimization efforts
  • National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), or NSCA Tactical Strength and Conditioning Facilitator (TSAC-F) Certification
  • Knowledge of holistic health techniques including sleep, recovery, stress management, injury prevention, exercise instruction, and exercise science
  • Experience participating on multidisciplinary teams that assess risk, conduct need assessments, establish measures of effectiveness, analyze data, develop educational programs, draft policy guidance, and ensure positive outcome measures for human performance and community health programs
  • Master's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition or related Health Science field
  • Experience with human performance software and hardware

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $81,800.00 to $186,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
