  • Follow L3Harris/Federal acquisition policies and procedures to ensure timely and economical procurement of all material, parts, assemblies, equipment and services.
  • Communicate supplier invoice discrepancies and work with supplier and accounts payable to close invoice issues and resolve open commitments to ensure timely payment of invoices.
  • Expedite material to improve working capital and resolve all floor shortages.
  • Interface directly with supply base to track and manage quality and delivery performance directly impacting Supplier Performance Metrics. Prevent production material shortages by identifying and expediting necessary shortages.
  • Access Supplier Portal applications to communicate/interface with suppliers to manage all open Purchase Orders and ensure MRP system/information continuity. Work within MRP system to identify/track purchase orders.
  • Obtain Return Material Authorizations (RMA) from suppliers and support program office with timely processing of repair/rework requisitions and manage all material return shipments.
  • Access Supplier Portal applications to communicate/interface with suppliers to manage all open Purchase Orders and ensure MRP system/information continuity. Work within MRP system to identify/track purchase orders.
  • Liaison between suppliers and L3Harris to organize, coordinate and manage purchase orders for all non-subcontract efforts.
  • Lead meetings and conference calls with internal Customers (Programs Team and Material Managers) to identify and resolve supplier performance issues for quality and/or delivery.
  • Work with suppliers and Accounts Payable department to close supplier invoice issues and resolve open commitments.
  • Liaison between suppliers and L3Harris to organize, coordinate and manage purchase orders for all non-subcontract efforts.

What The Role Will Involve


The responsibilities of your role will include the following:


  • Conduct financial evaluations on existing projects, carrying out business modelling and risk assessments
  • Maintain the data integrity of allocated project’s financial data in Deltek Costpoint
  • Analyse variances of project actual performance compared to the budget/forecast plans controlling income, cash flow and expenditure
  • Provide project financial inputs to the month end process in an efficient and timely manner, complying with time schedules and Corporate reporting requirements as per set reporting deadlines
  • Interrogate Company timesheet systems to provide data for use by the Project Managers
  • Collate, prepare reporting and presentation of the financial outcome, and projections with insightful commentaries for all contracts/projects under remit
  • Ensure compliance with internal financial and accounting policies and procedures (including Sarbanes Oxley ‘SOX’ requirements)
  • Assist with the preparation of the project management reports including; budget and forecasts utilisation reporting, cash flow forecast and any ad-hoc analysis as requested
  • Assist Project Managers to analyse financial and project information, identifying opportunities/risks and recommending improvements or mitigating actions.
  • Managing and delivering ad hoc financial analysis, modelling and reporting
  • Assist with the implementation of Earned Value Management (EVM) on allocated projects, work with the project team to produce monthly updates to EVM reporting and analyse the outputs to identify and mitigate performance issues as they arise.
  • Assisting project managers to set up and operate work breakdown structures appropriate to projects requirements and desired outcomes.


What You’ll Bring


The role of Project Accountant requires the following experience and skills:


  • The ability to communicate effectively to a wide-ranging audience (including ability to communicate financial issues effectively to non-financial staff)
  • Exposure to Defence Industry and/or Defence contracting would be advantageous.
  • Degree qualified in finance or accounting and CA or CPA highly preferred.
  • Demonstrable planning and organisation skills, with clear attention to detail and proven ability to achieve tight financial reporting deadlines.
  • Exposure to Oracle Hyperion/HFM financial reporting systems
  • General familiarity with US Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS).
  • Experience with EVM systems
  • Familiarity with the requirements of Australian Defence Cost Principles and exposure to the Financial Investigation Service ‘FIS’ costing, pricing review processes, mechanisms and requirements and the US equivalent thereof (Defence Contract Audit Agency ‘DCAA’)
  • Exposure to Sarbanes Oxley ‘SOX’ systems and processes.
  • The ability to make & recommend sound, highly developed financial decisions that will positive affect the direction of L3Harris Micreo.
  • Related experience in Project Accounting, budgeting and forecasting.
