Job Description
Job Summary


Following established protocol and under direct medical supervision of cardiologists, the Special Procedures Technologist in the Cath Lab will assist with procedures and all procedure related patient care.


Minimum Qualifications


Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Allied Health Professionals; or graduate of the military's Tri-Service Radiography Program and meets all requirements of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) for eligibility and attainment of ARRT credential(s).


Experience: Two years of work experience as an Imaging Technologist or 6 months of demonstrated clinical work experience as a Special Procedures/Vascular Interventional Radiology Technologist.


Licensure/Certification: Registered in Radiologic Technology by the American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT). Preferred completion of an accredited Vascular Interventional Radiology Program and ARRT registered in VI Radiology. Must have a current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider Card. Certified or documentation that certification has been applied for with the SCRQSA.

Knowledge/Skills: Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills. Must have demonstrated ability to perform and teach Special Procedures exams to produce satisfactory diagnostic films for interpretation. Knowledge of OSHA, DHEC, FDA and TJC standards and regulations. Responsible for safe operation of Special Procedures and processing equipment. Ability to operate standard office equipment.
