POSITION SCOPE AND ORGANIZATIONAL IMPACT


Moss' Safety Program Specialist is an integral part of the Safety Programs and Administration team. This team member will play a key role in the creation, administration, and training of Moss safety programs, policies, and procedures and be responsible for the quality and accuracy of the data flowing in and the reporting flowing out of the Safety division. This individual will be looked to as a programs and systems expert who can efficiently execute data and reporting tasks, as requested, while also collaborating with other team members and departments to streamline current policies / processes and develop new safety policies, procedures, and reporting methods as Moss scales.


Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities


  • Work with the Preconstruction and Engineering Dept by reviewing Owner's expectations/criteria, and comparing to Moss Safety program;
  • Support the Warranty department for all Safety needs;
  • Helps update and maintain client prequal software (ISNetworld, Avetta);
  • Document governance and Maintain existing suite of safety reports;
  • Document monitoring and governance of safety documentation on SharePoint and other systems;
  • Total Recordable Injury Rate tracking and calculation (multiple slicers);
  • Monitor Intelex for incomplete / overdue items, develop new safety reports on Intelex on scheduled basis, and automate safety reports as needed;
  • Actively monitors and maintains scheduling of key safety reports ensuring reports are processing on-time and without errors;
  • Point person for general day to day operational questions about Intelex (data) forward technical issues to BST;
  • Safety initiatives. Set up committees and drive to completion;
  • Trains, supports, and serves as resource for Moss employees relating to Safety Programs and support software e.g. Intelex, Workday, SharePoint;
  • Attend all designated meetings;
  • Take on all program related dashboard, data, and audit requests;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Project start up review & assign actions (safety engagement score, SSSP, Workday orientation request, etc..);
  • Assist in creation and updating of company safety programs, policies and procedures;


Education And Work Experience


  • CHST, ASP, CSP, or other recognized safety certification required or obtained within 90 days of hire.
  • Knowledge of Occupational/Construction Safety standards & terminology (specifically Regulatory agencies such as OSHA, EPA, DOT);
  • Ability to start and finish projects with minimal supervision including effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks;
  • Three to five years of progressively responsible professional work experience required.
  • OSHA 500 preferred
  • Strong research skills, including conducting research using the Internet and other on-line library services;
  • Proficient in the use of several software applications and tools including; spreadsheets, databases, word processing, reporting, scheduling, and presentation packages;
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration on Safety, management, Risk or other related field or combination of education and years of experience.
  • Ability to act as point person for internal, escalation of support needs, and problem resolution;
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to varying audiences.
  • Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with officers, managers, supervisors, fellow employees, representatives of other agencies, outside consultants, and the public;
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills;
  • Ability to address groups of various sizes, discuss/debate alternatives with other professionals and/or arbitrate differences of opinion and/or focus;
  • Working knowledge of Intelex (or similar project tracking tool) and applications used to extract data and create reports;
  • Ability to maintain a strong sense of propriety concerning confidential matters;


Travel Requirements


This is an office-based position with travel as needed (> 10%).


Physical Requirements


Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time and operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force. Ability to communicate with others, written or verbally, in person or over video. Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
