As a nonprofit trusted agent of the Government, Utah State University Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) is customer driven, mission focused, and technology enabled. SDL has been solving the technical challenges faced by the military, science community, and industry for more than six decades.

Our expertise is in space and airborne IR, VIS, UV, and RF sensors, small satellite technologies, test and calibration, cybersecurity, data visualization and assurance, and ground stations. SDL is seeking a Software Test Engineer that has demonstrated experience in designing, developing, and executing software test plans and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the development of test strategies to meet the release schedule for multiple programs
• Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information
• Help to develop and continually improve regression and acceptance tests including automated tests
• Assist in directing student employees in the test and independent validation and verification process
• Continually evaluate and help refine internal and external customer requirements
• Test, investigate, and manage defects and discrepancies for software with and without a UI
• Participate on software development teams as a test representative

Required Qualifications:

• Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance
• B.S. in a related field or equivalent years of related experience
• Working knowledge of Linux, Windows
• U.S. Citizenship
• Ability to work independently and with team members
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in an Agile software environment
• 2 or more years of experience as a software test engineer, automation engineer, or other technical testing role
• TS security clearance
• Experience in testing software and software test documentation
• Skill with one or more of the following: C++, Ruby, C#, Selenium/C#, CSS, Node.js, Confluence, Jira, Zephyr, BitBucket, VMware/VirtualBox, Jenkins, Visual Studio, SQL, Git
