Software QA Specialist

Job Overview

The Quality Assurance Specialist assesses software quality through manual and automated testing. They
are responsible for finding and reporting bugs and glitches. A tester must be competent in executing
test cases and have a keen eye for detail, as well as excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Develop and maintain test cases

• Execute test cases and document the results

• Develop and maintain test data

• Develop and maintain SQL queries

• Execute queries and evaluate the results

• Document, replicate, report defects and verify fixes

• Communicate results to appropriate team members

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of testing/product quality experience performing the duties noted above; or

any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background

• Experience with writing SQL queries

• Experience with automated test scripts using QTP, TestComplete, etc. Experience as part of a QA

team

• Excellent written and oral communication skills required

• Ability to work independently and as a team

• Knowledge of a variety of technologies and/or the ability to understand technology dependencies

and manage technology integration required

Reports To

The Software QA Analyst reports to the Scrum Master/Project Manager

The corporate office is located in Urbandale, IA, and we have a location at the State Capitol in
downtown Des Moines, IA
