As a SW QA Engineer, you will be working as an integrated member of a cross-functional team. You will participate in the design and execution of QA strategies and methods to deliver experiences that surprise and delight our customers. We are seeking a QA professional with a strong foundation in software engineering QA methodologies and proven experience employing them to deliver successful creative interactive entertainment software experiences.

Key Qualifications

  • Experience in QA of interactive entertainment software products/games desired but not required.
  • Ability to work independently and thrive while focusing on the details, such as spotting subtle problems, raising issues, and taking corrective action.
  • Experience developing detailed test plans, assessing risks, filing detailed defect reports, and providing relevant data for test reporting.
  • Excellent cross-functional communication and influencing skills, involving deep collaboration with engineering and design.
  • Excellent knowledge of software development lifecycle, testing methodologies, and testing tools.
  • Proven capabilities in end-to-end software product testing, with cross-functional teams delivering entertainment software experiences that integrate software and hardware.
  • Able to apply creativity and analytical thinking to all kinds of problems, to aid test case creation and execution.
  • Passionate about the customer experience and delivering software products that inspire, surprise, and delight.

Description

As a Software Quality Assurance Engineer, you will: Be the customer champion within the software project team. Work with design and engineering teams to identify software requirements and develop test plans. Define test coverage, create and maintain test cases, report test results, and evaluate readiness to ship throughout the software development lifecycle. Test new and existing features on pre-release software and hardware to find problems before they impact our users. Troubleshoot, triage and provide detailed debug information for expediting issue resolution. Work closely with other functional disciplines, especially engineering and design.

Education & Experience

BS/MS, Computer Science/Engineering or relevant industry experience

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $136,000 and $207,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
