Software Engineer (Robotics/Automation)

As the Software Engineer, you will be responsible for will be responsible for helping to develop applications for our laboratory automation and sample-prep instruments, which includes creating an ever-expanding set of plugins and device drivers to integrate peripherals that support our NGS products.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

• Provide thorough and concise documentation.
• You will be involved in developing a powerful and user-friendly application to program the instruments, which will touch on robotics, motion-control, and advanced liquid-handling technology.
• Develop API's to integrate the laboratory automation systems with other software applications.
• Interact with lab automation systems and other equipment to ensure that software meets the needs of the laboratory operators.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
• Design and develop software applications for automated liquid handlers and peripherals.
• Debug and troubleshoot software issues and provide technical support to end-users.
• Continuously improve software design and development processes and promote best practices within the team.

WHERE YOU WILL WORK

• This position is based at our facilities in San Jose, CA.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING US

• Experience with Agile software development methodologies.
• 3+ years of software development experience with a strong focus using C# and WPF for the development of software for liquid handling, robotics, automation systems is required.
• Ability to produce clear technical documentation such as design documents, test plans, and user manuals.
• Ability to develop and maintain robust and scalable software.
• Knowledge of software testing methodologies, including unit testing, integration testing, and regression testing.
• Understanding of software design patterns, object-oriented programming, and software development methodologies.

WHAT YOUR EDUCATION LOOKS LIKE

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent work experience.

HOW WE WILL REWARD YOU

The base salary range for this position is $ 110,000 to $150,000 DOE. This position will also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
