About the Team
Do you want to transform the student experience? We’re looking for hardworking and motivated software engineers to help build Workday's newest SaaS offering - Student Systems. As a part of the Student Financial Aid team, you will join a diverse and dynamic team of developers that are reimagining how academic institutions work, including everything from registering for classes to looking for financial aid. About the Role
The Software Application Engineer designs, develops and debugs features using the Workday application development toolkit. As an experienced engineer and member of the team, you provide mentoring and technical guidance for more junior teammates, provide leadership in maintaining technical standards as well as ownership for functional areas owned by the team. We are open to hiring at either a mid-level Software Development Engineer level, or a Sr Associate Software Development Engineer junior level, depending on experience and skills of the selected candidate.
About You
Basic Qualifications - Software Development Engineer
  • 2+ years of experience working with Test Driven Development practices
  • 4+ years of experience with UML, Web application development or SaaS (Software as a Service) technologies
  • 4+ years of development experience working with object-oriented design and development in object-oriented languages such as Java, C#, Workday XpressO
Other Qualifications
  • Proven to be a collaborative teammate with good oral and written communication skills
  • Experience designing and developing business applications – functional knowledge of Student Information Systems is a plus
  • Proven to interact effectively with all feature development partners, including peers, Product Management and Quality Assurance
  • Enjoy fast-paced development environment
  • 4-year degree in a computer related field or equivalent
