Qualifications: Qualifications/Requirements Bachelor's degree required from a four-year college or university or comparable workforce experience is required; majors in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related field preferred 7+ years of work experience as a software engineer focussed on data extraction and manipulation and automation Capable of creating practical, sound designs based on product team requirements and collaborating with the project's technical lead Experience programming with Python and Javascript (Typescript preferred) Standard business hours are required but flexibility is available Experience with relational databases (Postgres preferred) Strong SQL skills (querying, administration, reporting, development) experience required Expertise with common data manipulation tools (AWS Glue, Jupiter, etc.) Expertise with AWS data services (Glue, S3, Lambda, etc.) Experience with Infrastructure as Code and automated release management required (AWS CDK or at least CloudFormation strongly preferred) Experience with Git tooling required (GitHub preferred) Experience with VS Code preferred (adaptability and willingness to use VS Code required) Familiarity with Sustainability accounting is a big plus Familiarity with network concepts and architectural design Familiarity with Agile/Scrum practices preferred Desired Characteristics Excellent understanding of coding methods and best practices Highly self-motivated and directed Ability to communicate to non-technical stakeholders, cyber security liaisons, architectural resources, and technical peers Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities, critical thinking Ability to manage a high volume of details with excellent accuracy Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment Strong track record meeting targets and objectives Flexible and adaptable in regard to learning and understanding new technologies Ability to work collaboratively with cross-function peers Able to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment Results-oriented with a history of problem resolution and prevention Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws preferred Responsibilities: RESPONSIBILITIES Work with technical lead and non-technical stakeholders to create technical requirements from business requirements Meet technical needs pragmatically in an operationally sound way Autonomously implement deployment pipelines, AWS infrastructure (as Code), data ingestion pipelines using AWS Glue using Python (and other tools as determined) Quickly troubleshoot issues and remediate independently Identify and communicate risks and key decisions upward Estimate time requirements to deliver on capability requirements Create architectural diagrams and documentation to support the system Design, run and monitor software tests on new and existing programs for the purposes of correcting errors, isolating areas for improvement, and general debugging Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, programmer analysts and architects in conceptualizing and developing new software programs and applications. Mentor and transition solutions to Parks Technology Operations Team Provide regular status reporting Support during non-business hours as needed Perform other duties as assigned
