Shop Quality Control Supervisor

Will be responsible for assuring Quality Program is implemented & followed. Will be supervising project Quality inspectors. Will interact with client representatives to ensure a Quality product is produced within code/contract requirements

Essential Functions:

• Participate in safety and quality meetings
• Assist with nonconformance or quality incident reporting, root cause investigations and corrective action implementation throughout the division
• Take necessary steps to resolve Quality Issues as they arise and report those issues as they arise to Project Quality Manager
• Works closely with Divisional/Project Manager(s) with regards to all activities related to qualify for the divisional projects7.
• Perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned
• Reports to management on the performance of the quality program, including needs for improvement
• Follow all Safety and Quality Policies and Procedures with full Stop Work Authority
• Supervises project Quality Inspector(s)
• Will report to Project Quality Manager and Corporate Quality Manager
• Interact with Client or Client representatives to ensure a Quality Product within code and/or contract requirements
• Wear proper PPE at all times in work area at various job sites
• Assures Quality Program is implemented

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Knowledge of fabricating processes in heavy construction industry
• High school diploma, college degree preferred
• CWI Certification at Minimum
• 5+ years’ experience in Quality Control Supervision

• Ability to work non-routine hours, when necessary
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products preferred
• Ability to process multiple types of contracts/reports
• Exercise discretion and independent judgement when handling day to day information
• Ability to read blueprints and other engineering drawings
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to complete work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to work cooperatively across all levels delivering on commitments – results oriented

• Ability and willingness to travel as required

Physical Requirements:

• Able to lift up to 50 pounds, carry at least 30 pounds and up to 150 pounds with help.
• Must be able to twist, stand, stoop, bend, kneel, and crouch as required to perform essential functions for extended periods of time.
• Be able to work in extreme weather conditions, hot and cold weather.
