Receives and distributes incoming items and raw materials. Picks, packs and processes customer orders for UPS, FedEx or LTL shipment. Performs physical inventory counts. Assists in material handling functions for the various departments in the manufacturing division. Follows safety protocols in the execution of all functions.
Subscribes to and promotes the agencys mission, vision and values. Functions as an active team member to achieve agency and department goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Furnishes Senior Buyer with appropriate documentation (e.g., packing slips, purchase orders, etc.).
- Brings raw materials to the various production departments, as requested by team leader/supervisors
- Moves finished goods to the proper location, as requested by team leader/supervisors
- Unloads and loads trucks using material handling equipment; wears required PPE
- Contributes to the effectiveness of the agency and the department by performing all other tasks as assigned.
- Maintains equipment used in shipping areas.
- Assists with trash removal.
- Uses Pick List to identify the appropriate items and quantities for UPS and LTL customer orders
- Routinely checks freight elevators and notifies Team leader of problems
- Packages and palletizes items per guidelines
- Moves received raw materials to the proper location and informs the appropriate supervisor
- Prepares finished goods for shipment following work instructions
- Maintains equipment, storage, and work areas in a clean, safe manner:
- Distributes all incoming materials in a safe and proper manner:
- Matches goods with packing lists; reports discrepancies to Team leader and/or Senior Buyer
- Keeps shipping docks free of debris; and
- Performs physical inventory counts, as requested
- Processes orders utilizing ERP and EDI computer systems
- Follows work instructions for verifying incoming shipments
- Distributes received shipments to various agency departments
- Checks and inspects incoming goods to verify the contents and quality of the shipment;

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
Minimum of one year experience in shipping/receiving. Must be able to use material handling equipment.
OR EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Communicates effectively with managers and other employees of the organization.
REASONING ABILITY:
Able to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Able to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to be reasonably mobile. The employee must have the use of hands and arms and be able to work in a variety of situations, some of which may require climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling or crouching. The employee must be able to communicate effectively in both face-to-face or telephone situations.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision and depth perception.
