Position Summary:
Leads the Human Resources (HR) function for the largest business segment within Performance Food Group, with more than 20,000 associates across the country. Provides HR expertise, knowledge, discipline, leadership, and vision to the segment executive(s) and HR leaders. As a strategic business partner, serves as a catalyst and a conduit between PFG Corporate and the field to evaluate, develop, communicate, implement, and execute HR programs and initiatives in an effective manner. Highly impactful in providing guidance, and interpretation on all matters, both strategic and tactical, relating to associate and labor relations issues to all Operating Companies (OpCos) within the segment. Identifies and develops talent at the senior leadership level of the segment and at each OpCo. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and perform any duty assigned to best serve the company.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Evaluates senior leadership talent across the segment and develops plans to recruit or develop diverse talent to deliver on business objectives and meet strategic growth needs. Provides coaching, consulting and mentoring to drive organizational effectiveness.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of HR functional topics , best practices, and trends.
  • Identifies and champions segment needs and collaborates with Corporate partners across all HR functional areas (to include benefits, payroll, HR systems, talent acquisition, learning and development and communications) to enhance the associate experience, meet evolving business needs and create innovative programs.
  • In close partnership with Corporate Human Resources, develops the Human Resources strategy and priorities and leads the implementation of the strategy to drive results and outcomes in the segment.
  • Builds, develops and leads a team of HR professionals ensuring both strategic and tactical HR initiatives are executed to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Partners with Corporate HR in supporting acquisition activity for the segment.
  • Demonstrates strong business acumen to partner with segment leadership to achieve business goals, objectives and results.

Required Qualifications
Bachelors - Human Resources, Business, Management or related area
Minimum of 10 years of strong human resources generalist experience across all HR functional areas in a large multi-unit, multi-state organization with at least 5 years managing a team of HR professionals.
Experience leading acquisition integrations and labor avoidance.
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop HR talent.
Ability to use data to lead change, participate and drive strategic discussions, and influence outcomes to drive business growth.
Strong influencing skills to impact both direct and indirect reporting relationships.
Must possess the ability to build relationships with operational and functional leaders across the Company.
Outstanding communication and listening skills to be effective at all levels of the Company.
Results-oriented professional who can make a difference, takes initiative, has a "can do" approach and sense of of urgency, while being a strong collaborator.
Creative and flexible to challenge the status quo and adapt in a growth oriented, dynamic environment.
Must have a strong value system and unquestioned integrity.
Intellectual agility, strong business acumen and leadership authenticity.
Proven ability as a respected and credible business partner, representing the segment as well as the HR function.
Must have the ability to travel approximately 25%.
Located or willing to relocate to Richmond, VA or surrounding area.
Preferred Qualifications
Masters/MBA - Human Resources, Business, Management or related area
10+ years Human resources management or related area within the distribution or foodservice industry.
