Job Description

GENERAL FUNCTION

The Sr. Manager of Continuous Improvement and Training will support the evolution of EssilorLuxottica's lean culture to raise the region's Lean Six Sigma capacity and establish short-term and long-term learning strategies to increase the quality of performance at all levels of logistics employees. The Sr. Manager will inspire the team to improve performance in safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and efficiency, meeting financial goals. Working collaboratively across functions, this role will define training strategies that balance theory and practice to create and design learning modules that meet associates' and management development goals. This position will mold the direction of future learning programs and be the driver to create a culture of continuous learning.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain Kaizen sustainment trackers and execute training.
  • Support the logistics team, supply chain team, and HR to develop a skill matrix tool as the base reference for the training programs.
  • Identify and maintain processes and tools to drive standardization and efficiency.
  • Leading, defining, and delivering large business improvement projects using Lean Six Sigma and project management tools.
  • Design, create, and develop informal and formal learning solutions (including e-learning, interactive PDFs, videos, SOPs, etc.) to meet organizational needs by analyzing and selecting the most appropriate strategy, methodologies, and technologies to maximize the learning experience and impact.
  • Create and manage an L&D team across 4 DCs for the Logistics Atlanta Campus and Tijuana, MX DC.
  • Communicate with facility teams and cross-functional Subject Matter Experts to ensure content congruence among all curriculum tracks and alignment.
  • Influence and continue to move forward the culture of Lean/continuous improvement to all levels, from senior management to shop floor employees
  • Create and facilitate Daily Management processes in designated areas (GEMBA)
  • Collaborate closely with Cost Accounting to certify a financial alignment on the project and clearly define expectations regarding results.
  • Ensure associates are trained, cross-trained, and test that knowledge regularly to ensure proficiency.
  • Train/coach/mentor personnel in Lean and CI tools such as 5S, Lean standard work, Kanban, value stream mapping, visual management, flow production, SMED, variation reduction/DMAIC
  • Determine a strategy to ensure Product, Process, and Systems Knowledge is created, designed, and implemented across all sites.
  • Select, mentor, and certify Kaizen leaders to become Lean tool experts.
  • Drive the execution of the Kaizen events and Lean Projects
  • Audit and obtain feedback and data from facility partners, improving learning and development content and constantly moving learning content to the next level.
  • Participate in the development of CI project plans with Operations executives.
  • Actively identify potential risks & issues relating to the delivery of projects and manage a resolution process promptly, only escalating major issues.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with track-record of delivering results that directly impacted the bottom-line
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Leadership Development, Organizational Development, or Talent Management.
  • Proficient computer skills in Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Go Animate, and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Familiar with Policy Deployment
  • Strong strategic mindset to see ahead to future possibilities and translate them into breakthrough strategies
  • 7+ years of experience in a Continuous Improvement role supporting Operations manufacturing environment
  • Proficient knowledge of Learning Management Systems
  • Mastering of Lean Principles, Six Sigma tools, Strategic Planning, and statistical process control techniques
  • Ability to build partnerships and work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives
  • 7+ years of instructional design experience or project management experience
  • Experience in a business environment with the practical application of leadership development, organization development, and adult learning theories and models
  • Knowledge of training industry best practices
  • Track record as a successful "Change Agent" in front-line roles such as supply chain manager, manufacturing manager, quality manager, operation manager, or engineering manager
  • Strong planning, organizational, and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities at the same time
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams

  • Optical knowledge
  • PowerBI experience
  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills to apply knowledge of business to advance the organization's goals
  • Working knowledge of managing and influencing organizational change
  • Experience creating learning strategies using alternative modes and technology
  • Ability to design evaluation strategies to measure learning program effectiveness
