Senior Software Development Engineer, Test

The Automotive Vehicles team is searching for a creative and experienced Software Engineer to help us bring NVIDIA's autonomous vehicle solution out to the world. You will participate in a focused effort to develop and productize ground-breaking solutions that will redefine the world of transportation and the growing field of self-driving cars. You will work with hardworking and dedicated multi-functional engineering development teams across various vehicle subsystems to integrate their work into our AV SW platform, while achieving or exceeding all meaningful NVIDIA and automotive standards & guidelines. As a senior/principal software engineer, your primary role will be to build robust and scalable simulation infrastructure that will enable us to test and validate our self-driving technology over millions of virtual miles.

What You Will Be Doing

• Mentor and guide junior engineers, promoting a culture of technical excellence and collaborative problem solving.
• Collaborate across engineering, data science, test engineering, and release to build and scale test solutions that address gaps in coverage and frameworks and mitigate risks to the project.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve system-level issues that affect the performance and reliability of our simulation infrastructure.
• Design, develop, and maintain software infrastructure that supports large-scale, high-fidelity simulation of autonomous driving systems.
• Build and improve tools that automate the testing process, enabling a culture of test-driven development across the company.

What We Need To See

• Demonstrated ability to perform in situations with high ambiguity and competing priorities.
• 8+ years of software engineering and data analysis experience, preferably in the field of simulation, autonomous systems, robotics, artificial intelligence or related areas.
• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and test-driven development.
• BS (or equivalent experience), MS, or PhD in Engineering or Science field.
• Proficiency in Python, C++ or similar high-level programming languages.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical skills, and technical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with distributed computing and cloud technologies.

The base salary range is $176,000 - $333,500. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.
