About the role

We are seeking a technically skilled and highly motivated Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our dynamic team. In this role, you'll not only contribute to creating the next generation of developer tooling and infrastructure but also play a significant role in the performance testing and tuning of new services. You'll be instrumental in improving developer velocity, scalability, and the testability of services while providing technical expertise throughout the product lifecycle.

This role has been categorized as a teleworker position. Teleworkers do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice which must be identified to the Company. Employees may live in any part of Mexico, but preferably in Mexico City, as we would encourage attendance for occasional in-office events.

In addition to a competitive base salary and benefits, this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location.

Who you are

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to produce the best solutions possible
• Improve the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of our core systems
• Guide our organization through the technical implementation of DevOps practices
• Support engineering teams in deploying and operating their services
• Evangelize DevOps culture within the team and outside of StreetEasy
• Performance test and tune new services, and diagnose and debug production issues
• Leverage your knowledge to build technical consensus around architecture and technology choices
• Build and manage StreetEasy's cloud infrastructure, contributing to our commitment to reliability and efficiency

Requirements:

• Knowledge and experience working with microservices
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• Passionate about writing clean, well-tested code
• Experience in designing, developing, and scaling robust infrastructure
• Experience with cloud service providers, preferably AWS
• The ability to learn new technologies quickly and independently
• Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Python, Go, Ruby, or Java
• 1-3 years of experience in site reliability engineering, DevOps, or a related field
• Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and profiling skills
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure tools and technologies such as Kubernetes, Terraform, Docker, and other containerization technologies

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with monitoring tools and systems
• Experience with performance tuning
• Experience mentoring other developers is a plus
• Passion for product delivery and DevOps practices
