Senior Salesforce Developer Jobs

The Senior Salesforce Developer is responsible for the design, development, testing, and ongoing support of the Salesforce environment. The person in this position will bring expert knowledge to the Salesforce platform and will focus on improving system efficiencies and better capitalizing on the features and benefits of Salesforce-based systems relative to the needs of various user groups.

You will apply communication skills, problem-solving skills, and knowledge of best practices to create and support simple, scalable, compliant, and more automated mission-critical information and systems. The ideal candidate will have solid interpersonal skills, be a great teammate, and have a desire to support our corporate mission to bring workers home safe from high hazard conditions.

This position is a 1-year contract role.

Technical Design and Implementation

• Creates and maintains documentation supporting training, system administration, deployment, and operational processes and procedures.
• Develops software solutions to business problems. Leverages established design patterns and coding standards. Builds solutions that are secure, durable, scalable, flexible, and accessible and proactively mitigate against production support issues.
• Participates in the solution design process: requirements gathering and backlog refinement, shapes, and guides systems approach, helps with project initiation, contributes to functional design, and leads technical design and development.
• Collaboratively and effectively diagnoses, troubleshoots, and remediates incidents and problems to support the end user community. Initiates and leads root cause analysis efforts to identify and implement solutions to operational issues.
• Operates in both waterfall and Agile Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) processes and methodologies.
• Collaborates in planning, decomposing, estimating, scheduling, prioritization, and resource allocation exercises. Mitigates risk with prototypes for complex problems as appropriate. Build incrementally, with an eye toward vision of the final product. Provides transparency in approach and progress, throughout the process.

Platform Stewardship

• Contributes to the platform development community by providing input, content and feedback on design patterns, coding standards, and shared libraries.
• Partners with cross functional teams, such as Infrastructure, Security, Compliance, QA, and key operational teams, to strengthen and elevate the platform from a technology perspective. Successfully drives designs and solutions through enterprise processes and governance to ensure compliant, secure, and supportable solutions.
• Contributes to the vision, roadmap, and platform investments needed to take our business solutions to the next level. Identifies, influences, sells, and prioritizes innovative platform opportunities, as well as technical debt, with regular reviews, creating programs and solutions to raise the level of the platform offering or remediate systemic operational problems.
• Proactively participates in helping shape candidate solutions on the platform. This consultative part of the role explores the business capability portfolio to guide and direct solution options to ensure health of the platform.

Leadership

• Provides project leadership; initiates, organizes and champions small to medium development efforts for a team of developers over a shared code base.
• Delivers in a fast-paced support environment, driving all issues to resolution with a strong focus on customer satisfaction, stakeholder management, on-time delivery, and efficient task execution.
• Coaches and mentors other application developers learning new skills and technologies.
• Exhibits leadership courage with respectful, articulate positions to influence critical technology solutions.
• Negotiates, facilitates, and influences others to gain alignment and mutually agreeable outcomes in complex and ambiguous situations. Socializes technical approach and design to project team and corresponding dependent teams.
• Represents the Salesforce development team when engaged with cross functional teams, including functional analysts, Project Management, Operations, Infrastructure, Compliance, and the business customer.
• Supervises delivery of other developers on the team by setting priority and guiding deliverables.

Requirements

• Salesforce Architect and/or Cloud Consultant, PMP, and CAPM certifications desirable
• Experience creating standard operating procedures (SOP), maintaining, and updating tickets, incidents, requests, changes, problems, etc.
• Familiarity with Services Oriented Design Principles (SOA) and Web Services
• Proficiency with Force.com Migration Tool - Understanding of data migration from CSV, SQL, or other systems to the Salesforce platform, using tools such as the Salesforce Data Loader
• Familiarity with other programming languages, including JavaScript, CSS, HTML a plus
• Familiarity with other programming languages, including JavaScript desired
• 7+ years as a Senior Salesforce Developer or similar role
• Proficiency with code change control using Github
• Proficiency with and knowledge of relational databases, database architecture, data modeling, and ETL tools
• Salesforce Platform Developer II certification required
• Advanced proficiency with Force.com Platform (Apex, VisualForce, Salesforce APIs, SOQL, Unit Testing)
• Advanced proficiency with Salesforce Lightning and configuring Lightning Web components, and Flowbuilder
• Considerable knowledge of software development life-cycle methodologies, SaaS, and IT best practices
• Familiarity with other technologies, including CRMs, Airtable or BI tools, preferred
• Knowledge of sophisticated business systems integration as well as object-oriented design patterns and development
• Proficiency developing and modifying systems including coding, testing, debugging and documenting programs
• Proficiency with mobile design and mobile SDK highly preferred
• Experience developing custom Salesforce solutions
• Experience acting in a Technical Lead role and using Agile development methodologies, including sprint planning and estimation
