Job Description
Primary Location:

We are searching for candidates that meet the required qualifications and experience and are able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities.
Job Summary:
Develop, maintain and support Collin College’s Workday ERP along with other applications. Responsible for automating and improving system configuration, business processes, Workday Studio, core connectors, EIB’s, integrations, and reporting to maximize efficiency and improve user experience. Participate in the design, configuration and modification of business processes along with the implementation of additional modules in Workday. May also be responsible for other applications within Collin College.
Required Qualifications:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain and develop educational standards and knowledge for technological and software advances in regards to the district-adopted applications, departmental-adopted applications and in-house developed applications. Stay abreast of trends, review and give advice regarding functional departments requests for new software, reports and processes, and recommend new software tools that may be beneficial to the department.
  • Meet regularly with key stakeholders in assigned departments to discuss business needs and recommend information technology solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness of departmental processes and procedures. Communicate effectively and in a timely manner with administration and functional areas on all problems and status of current projects on a regular basis.
  • Develop general and detailed project documentation. Provide ongoing support for end users of software solutions.
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of all software that comprises the college's Enterprise Resources System, Workday, and focusing primarily on the particular components affecting the assigned functional area. Develop and maintain competencies with existing and new system tools and functionality.
  • Perform requirement definition with functional users, software design, hands-on programming, testing and deployment of custom software modules and reports. Develop and maintain competence in technologies including relational databases, Java, XSLT, XPATH, XML, JSON, SOAP, REST, and WSDL.
  • Perform as technical lead for any project from definition to implementation with the ability to maintain resources both functional and technical to ensure efficient and timely implementation for key stakeholders, including but not limited to concise understanding of project and its objectives, deliverables, timelines, communication, system analysis, technical development, testing and implementation.
  • Design, document and deploy in-house application solutions. Provide high-quality technology solutions and deliverables to assigned department (s) within defined timelines.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of technical design, technical unit and integration testing, and technical requirements
  • Knowledge of cloud-based technology and object-oriented data models
  • Gain and maintain an understanding of the business operations/processes of the assigned department(s), as well as current technology solutions used by the department
  • Knowledge of Workday, Workday Studio is preferred
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of the college's Enterprise Resource System, Workday
  • Critical analysis, technical and analytical skills
  • Develop competency in new system tools and functionality
  • Demonstrated proficiency in troubleshooting complex technical issues and recommend solutions
  • Knowledge of federal, state and local policies is preferred
  • Ability to be detailed oriented
  • Organizational skills
  • Verbal and written communication skills critical analysis
  • Ability to work in a team oriented, collaborative, fast-paced environment

Physical Demands, Working Conditions and Physical Effort
Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met. Positions in this class typically require talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking and repetitive motions. Relatively free from unpleasant environmental conditions or hazards. Office environment. Little physical effort required.

Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information System (CIS), or Management Information System (MIS) from an accredited institution of higher education. Master's degree preferred.
Five (5) years of experience in software development.
Experience designing and implementing enterprise software, components, frameworks and applications.
Experience with Workday preferred.
Experience in Higher Education preferred.

Licenses and Certifications
Workday Pro certification preferred.
