The Role

Provide day-to-day technical documentation, system, process, and order support for customer solutions and services to enable additional fiber capacity in customer locations. Interact with customers and internal Lumen teams to ensure solution details and service attributes are accurately designed, documented, and installed.

This is a Field role, and some of your time will be spent in the Field in the City or State listed in the job posting.

This is NOT a 100% Work from Home role.

Any tasks or duties that need to be performed other than Field assignments, can be done from home, and that is the extent of the Work from Home possibilities for this job.

The Main Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with internal teams to help ensure the delivery of services.
  • Customer building/site vetting for potential new solutions.
  • Satisfy all service attributes and process requirements necessary for order submission.
  • Developing technology scope of work, submitting for MRNA analysis funding as well as coordinating/partnering with our planning and Network implementation teams for installation.
  • Assemble service and order detail as needed to support service modifications.
  • As needed, help familiarize internal/external customers with Lumen services, processes, customer-facing portals, and tools.
  • Develop technical trainings as well as create and document processes that lead to additional efficiencies and the success of the program.
  • Ensure the ongoing accuracy of service records, solutions documentation, and operating playbooks.
  • Act as a team or project lead and provide training and peer support to other team SEs in the performance of their day-to-day activities.
  • Provide feedback that contributes to ongoing process and customer experience improvement initiatives.
  • Proactive MTU/MDU G.hn/G.FAST/GPON/Instant Wi-Fi enablement in customer locations.

What We Look For in a Candidate

  • Intermediate/Advanced working understanding of voice/data/internet applications, communications technology, and network design.
  • Intermediate/Advanced knowledge of voice and data communications equipment.
  • Experience with basic collaboration, office, and graphics design applications (Microsoft Office preferred, PPT, Excel, Visio).
  • Familiarity with the competitive factors, related industry trends, and business management and financial principles influencing the day-to-day conduct of business with customers in a technology sales role.
  • Intermediate/Advanced understanding of technical terminology related to company products and services.
  • Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines. Must be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously and be able to reprioritize as needed or as directed to respond to changing business requirements.
  • 2-5 years of experience as an Engineering Support Associate (ESA), Sales Engineer (SE) or equivalent experience level in a similar technology sales role involving information technology, communications, or security concepts
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to develop relationships and communicate effectively with individuals of varying roles and skillsets, both internally and externally.
  • Must be able to effectively delegate and administer workloads and action items for more junior Sales Engineers or internal eco-system when acting in a team or project lead capacity.
  • Must be able to effectively delegate and administer workloads and action items for more junior Sales Engineering Support Associates when acting in a team or project lead capacity
  • Strong analytical skills. Must be able to work through complex issues with a methodical approach. Must be able to graphically depict Lumen services and customer solutions in a clear and compelling manner.


Preferred

  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering, Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or similar technical field, or equivalent industry or professional experience required.
  • Industry or Technical Certifications: CompTIA A+, ITF+, Cloud Essentials; Cisco CCENT; CCNA, CCDA, CCNP, Microsoft MTA; or similar-level technology or industry experience or training preferred.

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

This position is eligible for either short-term incentives or sales compensation. Director and VP positions also are eligible for long-term incentive.
