Senior Resident Engineer Jobs

Reddy Engineering Services, Inc. (RE Services) is an employee-owned, award-winning disadvantaged/small business enterprise (DBE/SBE) based in San Diego, California that provides a wide range of construction management and landscape architecture services. The firm is composed of professional team members with decades of experience in the construction management / inspection and landscape architecture design and inspection services. The Company is experiencing a gazelle phase, where the high-growth company has been increasing its revenues by at least 20% annually since beginning operations in 2018.

Our Construction Management Teamis seeking a remarkableResident Engineer to work on roadway, highway, and/or streetscape assignments throughout the San Diego region.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and reviews complete project documents for conformity and quality assurance
• Assists with recruitment and conducts job performance evaluations
• Resolves issues arising from the inspection process or from contract administration
• Primary point of contact with clients and approving agencies
• Assists upper level management and staff as a technical specialist or advisor
• Reviews shop drawings, materials testing reports, and surveying data
• Has worked on a major project or several projects of moderate scope with complex features
• Manages professional and technical staff and contract administration
• Complies with EEO/labor compliance requirements
• Maintains scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments
• Other related duties as assigned
• Arranges for materials testing, surveying, grade verification and requests for payment
• Serves as the Owner’s representative on roadway construction projects, assuring projects are being built according to the contract documents
• Prepares proposals to provide professional services under the direction of the Principal Engineer
• Creates and processes change orders
• Oversees technical field inspectors and project team members to assure project goals are being met
• Performs a wide variety of construction engineering, including but not limited to roadways, bridges, water and wastewater facilities
• Conducts construction meetings and utility coordination
• Prepares progress and final documents to meet State and Federal Highway Administration

Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) / Licensed Civil Engineer in the State of California
• Proficient with MS Office Suite
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or related field)
• Ability to work independently with little oversight
• Ability to apply advanced engineering techniques and practices as well as solve complex engineering problems
• Minimum of 5 years’ Demonstrated experience administering Caltrans and local agency contracts
• Minimum of 10 years' construction management or project management experience
• Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal
