Position: Senior Project Manager
Duration: 1 year (extendable)
Location: Hybrid, North Carolina
Overview:
The Senior Project Manager will play a critical role in steering the organization's strategic projects, working closely with diverse internal and external stakeholders, project teams, departments, and vendors. We're on the hunt for an individual who possesses not only technical prowess but also robust management skills. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on application modernization, modularization projects, and collaborate with State and Local Governments, thereby creating a significant impact on our community.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure projects are delivered within the stipulated budget, scope, and timeline.
- Relay information through presentations, training sessions, and written reports.
- Collaborate on Child Welfare Information Systems or similarly complex case management systems.
- Prepare detailed project plans to address complex business needs.
- Establish and/or implement governance models for IT modernization efforts, if required.
- Supervise project aspects including risk, cost, schedule, quality, testing, and communications.
- Make objective decisions based on strategic objectives, business performance analysis, and resource availability.
- Create, manage, and optimize roadmaps for the portfolio.
- Oversee the end-to-end management of multiple large and complex projects.
- Collaborate with State, Local, and possibly Federal Government.
Qualifications:
- Required: 5 years of experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, and Powerpoint).
- Desired: PMI certification Project Management Professional (PMP) and experience with Cloud technologies & SaaS applications running on Cloud.
- Highly Desired: Experience with Agile Methodologies and collaboration with Federal, State, and Local Government.
- Required: Strong organization and analytical thinking skills with a proven track record of preparing project plans for complex business needs.
- Required: Solid work experience with project management tools, notably Microsoft Project.
- Desired: Experience in the implementation of a statewide IT project and with Child Welfare Information Systems Implementation.
- Required: Strong supervision, organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills with 3 years of experience.
- Required: 3 years of hands-on experience in managing project risk, cost, schedule, quality, testing, and communications.
- Required: Minimum 3 years of program management experience, managing multiple large complex projects.
- Required: 3 years of experience in creating roadmaps for portfolios and delivering IT projects within budget, scope, and schedule.
Management Preferences:
- Experience in complex, cross-functional team environments.
- Candidates with PgMP Certification.
- Candidates with Agile (PMI-ACP) Certification.
