Job Description

In business over 33 years, Wells & Wells Construction has become a leader in the multi-family and commercial construction business in Illinois and nationally. They recently opened an office in Raleigh North Carolina.



Project Executive / Project Director – Raleigh NC

  • Arrange opportunities for personal interaction and networking of those that surround the client from architects, engineers, brokers, and other staff associated with and supporting the client.
  • Work closely with clients, owners, architects and subcontractors to develop relationships that exceed the client satisfaction to W&W’s demanding standards.
  • Participate in bid proposal kick-off meetings.
  • Project Management, Quality Review and Project Close-Out; responsible for ensuring that Projects achieve budget and profitability objectives. This includes:
  • Attend all scheduled meetings as necessary to monitor and manage project profitability.
  • Visit sites regularly to monitor project performance, schedule, and expenditures with project staff, highlight potential challenges and provide leadership in responding creatively to bring projects in on schedule and under budget, where feasible.
  • Project Acquisition
  • Responsible for all corporate commitments and follow through.
  • Provide leadership in business judgment and all financial and profitability aspects of projects under your jurisdiction.
  • Assign appropriate Project Management Staff in association with the Operations Manager and Regional Vice President.
  • Participate extensively in helping to acquire and define projects and develop budgets that will achieve profitability objectives taking into account project-specific challenges.
  • Ensure consistent performance, project delivery (preconstruction and construction) will exceed client expectations.
  • Ensure Project Management staff is trained according to Wells and Wells guidelines.
  • Oversight of projects at a high level from beginning to end including budget, costs, unexpected events, general performance, and overall progress against plan.
  • Project Director is the primary representative of Wells and Wells with the responsibility to develop and expand the client relationship.
  • Participate and understand unique owner needs to represent W&W capabilities and help close potential clients.
  • Ensure that the day-to-day operations of projects are transitioned effectively to Project Managers and Superintendents from Preconstruction when work commences in the field.
  • Attend owner and project meetings, maintain continuous client contact to gauge performance perceptions and communicate relevant information to Project Team.
  • Conduct Post closeout review of project.
  • Proposal / Project Start Up/Turnover/Pre-Construction
  • Monitor and evaluate Project Management and Superintendent Staff assignments.
  • Ensure Turnover meeting occurs between Preconstruction and Operation teams.
  • Recruit qualified talent; mentor, coach and train them to perform and ensure effective matching of talent to project scope
  • Project Director is the primary client contact for the relationship to manage client expectations.
  • Assist and manage proposal responses, schedule development, take the lead in outlining shortlist presentations of the team.
  • Responsible for maintaining client loyalty least of which is satisfaction.
  • Project Director reports directly to the Regional Vice President.
  • Provide oversight in managing all necessary resources throughout the entire project from start-up through closeout and ensure that the Owner’s expectations, budgetary and profitability objectives are exceeded
  • Set appropriate milestones and assign staff qualified to handle the scope and complexity of the project.
  • Represent W&W to the Owner(s), Architects, Consultants, Government Authorities, Vendors and Subcontractors.
  • Accurately manage the forecast of project performance
  • Review and approve the pre-mobilization activities.
  • Monitoring Client Relationships and address as needed.
  • Responsible for understanding client’s loyalties and why, extended relationships, background, and goals.

Qualifications

· Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or something similar

· 10+ years in the construction industry
