Position Summary
The Senior Manager of Procurement is responsible for managing the day-to-day purchasing functions of the organization, contract oversight, sourcing suppliers, and evaluating product/service availability, price, term and quality.

Your day to day
Essential Functions (including but not limited to)
  • Lead the process of selection and periodic review of preferred vendors/general contractors / external suppliers in collaboration with functional departments and project owners.
  • Analyze and administer contracts across the business to include coordination with functional departments, negotiation of pricing, terms and conditions, review and renewal tracking.
  • Provide leadership to the procurement team, including hiring, training, supervising and coaching.
  • Ensure vendors are in compliance with government regulations (e.g. vendor debarment and suspension regulation).
  • Develop and manage procurement processes for organizational efficiencies and to ensure best options are being exercised, supplies and services are available when needed.
  • Audit order fulfillment to ensure accuracy and adherence to purchasing policies; recommend updates to policies, procedures as necessary.
What are we looking for?
Qualifications and Experience
  • Five years of procurement experience required. CPP or similar certification preferred.
  • 2 years supervisory experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply management, finance, business or applicable technical field required.
Other Requirements
  • Problem Solving/Analysis: ability to troubleshoot, think logically through processes, determine issues for resolution, communicate options effectively as needed, and bring issues to close.
  • Must be willing and able to work full time and with occasional varied shifts including holidays, weekends and in support of the park and events as needed
  • Must be flexible and have the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude with the public.
  • Proficient on a computer or laptop, MS Office Suite of products and procurement software (Blackbaud preferred).
  • Integrity/Trust: ability to inspire trust and confidence with coworkers and with internal and external customers based on strong competence and consistent respect for organizational values. Keep supervisor informed.
  • Excellent negotiation skills; strong analytical, mathematical and decision-making skills
  • Must be able to work in a variety of physical positions, including extending sitting, bending, standing, lifting, and walking
  • Ability to interpret contract language
  • Must value customer service excellence, cross functional team collaboration, two-way communication and follow through; effective verbal and written communication
  • Conducts all activities in alignment with AZA standards and guidelines, all relevant laws and regulations, safety standards, and standards that ensure animal welfare
  • Thoroughness: strong attention to detail with ability to effectively monitor quality and accuracy
