Meaningful Work From Day One:
Lead category management, procurement and renewals of technology goods and services, software, software as a service for Brown-Forman’s Global Information Technology. Working with Brown-Forman’s Information Technology leaders, manage new contract negotiations and renewals for all technology purchases.
What You Can Expect:
  • Monitor and establish key strategic Technology supplier relationships, including a focus on increasing diversity suppliers when applicable.
  • Track savings and other key procurement metrics. Produce monthly reports and contribute to department reports in a timely manner.
  • Lead renewal negotiation strategy for critical suppliers. Review upcoming contracts for expiration and work with IT to ensure timely renewal.
  • Lead end-to-end Information Technology procurement and category management, from running RFP processes through to supplier contract negotiations. Partner with Legal, IT and associated business areas to ensure contracts are completed by requested date, and contain critical detailed information, service levels and performance metrics (as applicable). Develop effective, consistent, and equitable strategic supplier relationships while maintaining a high standard of ethics. For IT renewals that are clones/duplicates of previously Legal reviewed contracts, review and approve contracts for execution.
  • Serve as a thought leader to the rest of the organization for strategic sourcing initiatives. Work with other Direct Procurement category managers to develop and implement procurement and category management best practices. Mentor colleagues in the areas of procurement and category management.
  • Manage and mentor 1 to 4 category manager(s) one of which will focus on Brown-Forman Global Data Procurement.
What You Bring To The Table:
  • Ability, as applicable by contract, to develop unique, specific IT and business requirements, services levels, metrics and ensure they are included in our contracts
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and drive change among stakeholders
  • Ability to foster a high-performance environment among diverse individuals, including developing procurement talent
  • Ability to identify and focus on top priorities, and balance multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
  • Education: College/University (Bachelor’s or Equivalent); Supply Chain, Business, or related discipline
  • Ability to review a supplier pricing proposal, extrapolate life of contract cost and create a negotiation strategy for best practice contract/pricing
  • Experience: 4+ years’ experience in sourcing including experience procuring a broad range of IT hardware/software services
  • Ability to track IT procurement metrics and create monthly executive level presentations show a status of activity
  • Strong working knowledge of IT contract negotiations and demonstrable experience with a focus on delivering significant savings in a challenging, multi-layered global environment
  • Ability to influence decision making, and create consensus, in cross-functional and multi-site teams, and with suppliers
  • Fundamental understanding of technology contract language and the ability to work with Legal team on redlines
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Able to persuade, motivate and compel support for key ideas and initiatives, via persuasive discussions
  • Superior negotiation skills
