Position Summary

The Senior Manager works closely with the Hematology and Cell Therapy Therapeutic Area (TA) leadership teams and business partners to help execute strategic operational activities. They will support core business activities (e.g., TA Head priorities, strategic initiatives, TA budget, and resource planning) and may provide support and oversight to other high priority projects within the TAs and across DD.
The role will report into the Hematology and Cell Therapy Operations Lead.

Key Responsibilities

Support operationalizing TA Heads’ vision and priorities.
Play a central role in developing the functional business calendar and collaborate on planning various TA events including Town Halls, employee engagement opportunities, site interactions.
Manage TA-level information including organizational charts, eTime, congress attendance, etc.
Drive annual budget projections, with strategic guidance from the TA Operations Lead, for the TAs including headcount evaluation and budget requests.
Track TA budget spend and headcount actuals in partnership with R&D Finance & HR.
Provide support and content preparations for external and internal engagements including congresses, Town Halls, TA LT meetings, etc., as applicable.
Help drive efforts to improve ways of working within the TAs.
Support initiatives across TAs or Drug Development including management of staff meetings.
Ensure consistency of processes and share best practices within DD strategic operations community of practice across all TAs.


Qualifications & Experience

Undergraduate (BA/BS) degree required; advanced degree in related discipline (MBA, MS, PhD, PharmD) or Project Management certification is a plus.
5-7 years of Pharma/biotech experience within the Pharmaceutical industry.
Ability to build strong, trusting relationships, lead large/complex programs, and work across divisions, diverse business backgrounds and cultures.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Strategic thinker who sees the bigger picture and possesses high business acumen; understands how the parts impact the whole (end to end enterprise) and makes the best decisions for the whole.
Excellent influencing and negotiating experience and capabilities in a matrix environment. Must be able to interact with senior leaders from across the enterprise.
Strong project management and execution skills and is able to manage multiple projects and prioritize as needed. Ability to plan and conduct projects within a multi-disciplinary environment.
Has a proven track record of delivering results.
