About The Role
Spanx is looking for a Sr. Manager of BI & Analytics to drive growth through data driven insights. This is a pivotal role within the BI and Analytics organization working across business operations leaders to drive profitable growth. The role reports into the Head of BI and Analytics and will partner with several business and data leaders across the organization in finding meaning in our data to drive change.
In this role, you will shape and deliver on the analytics roadmap that provides profitable growth. The ideal candidate is hypothesis driven and will have experience in the entire analytics value chain from identifying the right data sources to building statistical models to communicating actionable insights.
The ideal candidate will possess an insatiable curiosity and a continued desire to improve business performance. You will apply your expertise in quantitative analysis and data mining to look beyond the obvious to find insights to incrementally drive improvements in all facets of the business.
This role can be based in our ATL HQ or NYC Metro.

You’ll love it because you will:
  • Be hypothesis driven and provide clear logical thinking in framing of business problems or in discussing new strategic initiatives
  • Proactively identify areas where analytical efforts can produce a strong business value add and contributing to the analytics road map
  • Develop and present insights and actionable recommendations to leadership to drive growth
  • Construct and maintain data models (SQL, dbt) to drive reporting and insights solutions
  • Maintain knowledge of data sources that provide critical performance metrics across various business functions
  • Choose the right data and most effective analytics technique to find evidence supporting or refuting hypotheses that aid in better decision making
  • Assist in reconciling differences in metrics sourced from different systems
  • Collaborate with multiple teams in monitoring and enhancing customer behavior on Spanx.com, developing strategic a/b testing, web analytics and furthering insights
  • Possess a thorough understanding and documentation of the lineage and context of various metrics
  • Work with business operations teams to identify new data and new uses of existing data that enable insight generation for growth
  • Mentor and coach junior members in skill development, efficiency hacks, and business knowledge.
  • Develop customer understanding through deeper segmentation that includes, but not limited to, customer purchase behavior and digital engagement
  • Own dashboards that capture critical metrics that aid in business decision making
  • Drive development of key metrics and monitor success across various functions (customer experience, finance, demand and inventory planning, logistics, marketing)
Qualifications
We require:
  • Excellent communication and data presentation skills covering objectives, plans, status, roadblocks, and results.
  • Advanced Excel skills with good modeling hygiene
  • Demonstrated success working with executives and data driven recommendations to direct business growth and operational effectiveness and achieve high impact results.
  • Experience managing a multidisciplinary team (3+ people)
  • Prior experience proactively identifying areas where analytical efforts can produce a strong business value add and setting the analytics roadmap.
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau or other BI software (e.g. Looker).
  • Experience working across multiple business functions (preferably in a digital, marketing, retail in e-commerce setting)
  • Strong experience with SQL and proficiency in a programming language (e.g. Python, R)
  • Advanced database query experience with SQL and ELT workflow (dbt). And familiarity with noSQL
  • Bachelor’s in computer science, engineering, statistics, economics, or other quantitative discipline; Masters preferred.
  • Strong business acumen, analytical skills and technical abilities along with problem solving skills.
