About The Role
The Director of Sales will be responsible for overlooking and monitoring the success of our airport retail business by providing the leadership, guidance, and motivation for the teams to achieve positive business results, operational excellence, and exceptional customer service. Responsible for building out a team to support identified business needs.
We’re seeking an analytical and self-motivated individual with a background in sales and ideally store experience to join our team. The Director of Sales is responsible for owning one of our fastest growing sales channels through management of our airport stores. In this role, you will report to the Vice President of Sales and partner closely with our planning, merchandising, and marketing teams.
The role can be based out of our ATL HQ or NYC Metro with travel required.

You’ll love it because you will
  • Frequent travel to airport stores in order to provide the leadership, direction, and motivation to drive sales
  • With Marketing, create and implement visual and marketing directives for stores
  • Assist with creating and managing annual budget; monitor and manage P&L to ensure annual KPIs are achieved
  • Run a highly visible wholesale channel in a non-traditional manner while building a team to support fast growth
  • Lead the business through effective collaboration and partnering across key departments: Merchandising, Marketing, Finance, Planning and People Team
  • Analyze and drive sales while managing inventory: secure reorders, identify opportunities based on global business, and creatively work through unproductive stock
  • Responsible for recruiting, interviewing and hiring successful team. Establish processes to ensure team is trained, coached, and motivated to achieve sales plan
  • Lead regular communication and collaboration with external customer to include buyers and senior management in order to maximize opportunities, negotiate and grow the business
  • Partner with Merchandising to create productive assortments that align to account objectives; present out product strategy at market
Qualifications

  • Strong leadership presence achieving business objectives through talent development that aligns with the SPANX values
  • Innovative problem-solving skills – dissect and determine root causes of problems and implement solutions
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook and Power Point
  • Effective track record of leadership and organizational skills and ability to engage and motivate teams
  • College degree in related field preferred
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills at all levels in the organization; ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a result driven, team oriented environment
  • Proven ability to manage multiple, time-sensitive projects and competing priorities simultaneously, work independently, and drive projects to completion with minimum guidance and high attention to detail
  • Extensive travel with flexibility and adaptability to work schedule as needed
  • Solid business acumen to include retail math and P&L responsibility
  • Minimum 10+ years of multi-store leadership experience in Retail environment
