What We’re Looking For

Baylor University ‘s Hankamer School of Business is seeking a full time Senior Graphic Designer. As the Senior Graphic Designer, you will provide marketing design expertise and services for the organizations within the Hankamer School of Business. You will use your experience and skills in all areas of graphic design from the art design, illustration, through pre-press to succeed in the role. Additionally, the successful candidate will demonstrate the following:

Required Skills and Competencies

• Must possess a high level of integrity and collaboration
• Ability to problem-solve and work with many projects concurrently and must have the ability to set and meet deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and focus on the purpose behind each design strategy
• Strong work ethic and focus on assigned projects
• Ability to animate text and graphics is a plus, but not required
• Experience in graphic design and printing and production
• Knowledge of scanning and color correction techniques
• Must have the ability to perform all functions in the graphic production process from art design, illustration through pre-press
• Advanced level of experience with Adobe Creative Suite and InDesign necessary

A Bachelor’s degree in art, graphic design, visual communications, marketing or related field, four years of relevant work experience, and an active Christian faith are required. A Master’s degree and five years of relevant work experience are preferred. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

What You Will Do

• Coordinate production coordination with outside vendors, HSB Communications and Marketing team, and track progress in the team’s project management system
• Perform press checks and approve proofs from printing companies on various printed materials
• Design complex graphics using independent judgment, creativity, and computer equipment, guided by University brand standards. Create layouts, designs, drawings, and illustrations for a variety of media, including cards, invitations, magazines, brochures, multimedia, web graphics, digital screens, promotional products, etc
• Coordinate and provide art direction for photography sessions. Oversee freelance photographers
• Ability to comply with University policies
• Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance
