The graphic designer will be a key member of the Communications Design team within a fast-paced, collaborative Creative team. The Senior Graphic Designer plays a vital role translating Dimensional’s content into engaging communications that reflect and enhance the brand of a dynamic, growing organization. Responsibilities include the conceptualization, design, and production of corporate collateral including brochures, publications, web/social graphics, data visualization, e-newsletters, events collateral, and promotional campaigns for print and digital distribution. This individual must have the ability to work creatively within a corporate brand, have an understanding of connecting creative solutions to business objectives, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
The candidate must have the ability to translate complex subjects in an understandable and compelling way and to work with other members of an integrated Marketing department as well as key stakeholders within the business to produce exceptional communications on a consistent basis. We are looking for a creative thinker with a passion for user-centered design and a firm grasp of gestalt design principles and their practical application to deliver best-in-class communications that meet business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Creative
  • Maintain, enhance, and evolve the firm’s brand identity. Master and maintain brand standards and consistency of message and design across materials and media, globally.
  • Conceptualize and design high-quality print and web work that aligns with business goals and the needs of our sales and investment teams.
  • Work collaboratively with Editorial team so that copy and design work together to communicate the subject matter in a clear and understandable way.
  • Collaborate with Creative, Sales, Research, and Technology teams to translate data into clear, effective charts, graphs, and infographics.
  • Create press-ready mechanicals.
  • Collaborate with Digital team and key stakeholders on ideation and design of dynamic, interactive data visualization experiences.
  • Work closely with Design Director and other members of the department in the development of a design from start to finish.
  • Collaborate with Video team on narrative storyboards and motion graphic development.
  • Art direct photo shoots.
  • Create, research, and retouch images as needed. Must have understanding of best practices for print retouching and digital optimization.
  • Attend press checks.
  • Collaborate with Digital team to extend our brand through content and tools experiences across our global digital properties.
  • Maintain quality control in regard to file preparation.
Workflow
  • Ensure internal workflow processes are followed; Keep project managers informed throughout design development cycle.
  • Maintain assets and electronic files on a shared server.
  • Maintain project organization including keeping accurate project notes and records in internal database.
  • Regularly track work against defined schedule.
Competencies Required:
  • Expert in print production software: Adobe Creative Suite (particularly InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to translate and simplify complex data through information graphics, charts and graphs.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take direction from Design Director and Creative Director.
  • Background in financial services industry or other intangibles a plus.
  • Ability to create digital designs and mockups that closely adhere to web design principles and user interface best practices.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative solving creative problems, enhancing the brand, and improving operational efficiencies.
  • Ability to synthesize information to develop creative, innovative design solutions for diverse client base across multiple lines of business.
  • Ability to work on both a Mac and a PC for a variety of media.
  • Excellent oral, presentation, and communication skills Ability to prioritize independently based on workflow dependencies, competing business initiatives, and time constraints.
  • Ability to multitask and take initiative.
  • B.F.A. in graphic design or equivalent.
  • Must have formal training/experience in conceptualization, sketching, typography, production and prepress skills.
  • Minimum three-to-five years of professional design experience in a fast-paced agency or in-house, creative environment.
