Our Lighter team is growing rapidly and we’re seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer, reporting to the CTO, to help us change the world through technology.

Your Impact

You will be executing on the vision of Lighter to improve health and wellbeing through the impact of food-as-medicine by building out and scaling up our industry-leading technology platform with a highly motivated team.

We’re looking for a veteran engineer who can effectively execute on Lighter’s technology roadmap in order to realize the ambitious vision we have for the future of our SaaS platform. We are seeking a collaborative individual contributor who helps others achieve their potential, working cross functionally in our growing organization to ensure that our products and services meet the needs of our customers.

Your Responsibilities

• Set and accomplish goals while working under minimal supervision
• As a key member of and in collaboration with the engineering team, design, implement, test and maintain software that meets business objectives
• Act as the go-to expert for the entire technology stack, demonstrating a deep understanding of all layers of the stack, including front-end, APIs, back-end, server, network and how it relates to business needs

Skills & Experience

• Experience with Docker, building and deploying images and compose stacks
• Experience writing quality unit tests
• B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent degree preferred
• Deep understanding of security and data protection concepts
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with healthcare IT preferred
• Expert proficiency in Javascript/ES6 and one server side language (Golang preferred)
• Experience with microservice architectures
• Minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience
• Strong understanding of ReactJS concepts, with experience in Redux, Webpack, service workers, code chunking, and client optimization supporting multiple operating systems and browsers (mobile and desktop)
• Demonstrated experience building large scale web applications from API to user interface, database operations, CDN, A/B testing, and continuous integration and deployment
• Solid understanding of styling and CSS preprocessors
• Experience with Agile development methodologies
• Experience with serverless deployments and ElasticSearch preferred
