We are looking to hire a Senior Financial Analyst in Gardena, CA. This is a direct hire opportunity to join our accounting department. Please note this is an on-site position!
Position Summary: The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial reporting. This position will be responsible for improving and maintaining accounting practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation, and the support of budget and forecast activities. The Senior Financial Analyst will have contact with Corporate and Divisional Financial Management which requires strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Proactive in compiling and analyzing financial information for the operation.
- Other duties as assigned
- Collaborates in the annual development of departmental budgets, and monthly budget reporting.
- Responsibility for General ledger, including month-end closing, and Journal entries completion.
- Responsible for completing, overseeing and reviewing accounts reconciliations.
- Assist team in identifying and implementing process improvements, cost saving initiatives, and lean manufacturing strategies that will increase earnings.
- Respond to inquiries from the controller, and company managers regarding financial results and special requests.
- Ensure internal and external audits are thorough, timely, and in compliance with corporate policies and GAAP requirements.
- Conduct Ad-hoc complex financial analysis as assigned. Perform quarterly SOX testing.
- Complete monthly, quarterly and annual forecasts of full P&L including quarterly financial packages.
- Analyze account variances on a timely basis to determine root cause and provide corrective action analysis.
- Analyze and publish daily financial metrics, analyze and publish weekly P&L, and Staffing Reports.
Required Skills:
- Hunger and Drive to a timely and accurate job completion with minimal direction is a must.
- Ability to handle high stress associated with high activity with tight deadlines.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, queries, external data, etc.), Word, and PowerPoint.
- High level of business acumen – needs to be a partner to the leadership team and a strategic thinker.
- Passion for the job and a can-do attitude; willing to work the hours necessary to enable the business to continually exceed expectations.
- Critical thinking with an ability to mitigate risk for the business while providing solutions to allow the business to move forward towards objectives.
- Ability to indirectly or directly manage / lead employees and teams.
- A proactive, hands-on with solid problem solving skills which allows for strategic data interpretation vs. simple reporting.
- Relentless and tenacious pursuit of continuous improvement in all facets of the business.
- Have a strong sense of urgency, self-starter with the ability to work independently.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and statutory accounting concepts and principles; background in strengthening the internal control environment
- Highly organized and able to juggle several time-sensitive projects simultaneously
- Manufacturing background/Experience for a large size enterprise/business.
Experience & Education:
- Required: • BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance, MBA Preferred but not required.
- 2-5 years experience in accounting, finance or analytical support position or equivalent combination of education and work experience
