- Ensure that issues and concerns raised by patients and their families are handled in an effective and expedient manner
- Coordinate employee training on patient/family complaints and grievances
- Identify areas needing additional training in policies and procedures related to complaints and grievances
- Solicit and answer questions that patients and families may have concerning non-clinical issues related to their visit as evidenced by leadership observation
- Takes the lead in collaboration with the unit Family Advocate on complex patient/family support issues as requested and/or directed by Resolution Specialist and Assistant Director
- Document daily work and provide appropriate reports
- Read current literature to maintain and develop knowledge of issues affecting families and service and in the delivery of care
- Assume on-call duties after hours, on weekends, and on holidays on a rotating basis
Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including any booster dose(s) of the COVID-19 vaccine recommended by the Centers for Disease Control when eligible, is required for all employees at Texas Children's, unless approved for a medical or religious exemption
- Bachelor's degree in a clinical discipline (social work, child life) preferred
- 3 years' experience in a health care clinical setting required

Our Specialty Care Center in Austin includes a multidisciplinary group of pediatric specialists committed to providing comprehensive care across a wide spectrum of services, including allergy and immunology, cardiology, ophthalmology, rheumatology, pulmonology, neurology, and more. Texas Children's also plans to build a 360,000-square-foot freestanding hospital for children and women, set to open in 2024.
