Senior Fabricator

Job Category: Service Contract Act

Time Type: Full time

What You’ll Get to Do:

Woods or Composite Work. Experience performing metalwork and non-metalwork (wood or composite) activities to fabricate and fit models and components for testing.

Quality Controls. Implement quality control by applying scientific methods to determine metallurgical effects and equipment interaction culminating in a physical representation, and compare to design intent.

Equipment Operation. Operate machines and instruments; and perform material roll, cut, punch, press, drill and bore, grind, lap, polish, buff, lathe, turn, mill, drape, shape and plane, and weld. Review and reconcile discrepancies between hardcopy drawings, computer-aided design (CAD) files, and other physical components requiring assembly. Set up, operate, program, edit, and disassemble manual, automatic, and computer-numeric-controlled (CNC) machines and tool sets. This includes aligning, securing, and adjusting cutting tools and work pieces. Monitor feed rate and machine speed; perform adjustments for consistency. Measure, examine, and test completed products for defects; perform corrective action to bring within specified tolerance.

Fabrication Support. Provide fabrication support to include researching; planning; designing; advising; preparing; operating; assisting; inspecting; measuring; recording; testing; diagnosing; and documenting welding activities, sheet metal activities, and specialized tooling activities.
