Senior Electrical Engineer, EV Solutions (Alpharetta, GA or Lafayette, IN 3 days/week)

We are searching for a Senior Electrical Engineer for Electric Vehicle Solutions -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. This position is responsible for working with a Global EV team on Electric Vehicle Service Equipment (EVSE) product development.Designing an EV system is a complex task that requires a deep understanding of electronics and how they work together.

The Senior Electrical Engineer for Electric Vehicle Solutions will be acting asthe technical lead in the North American Region (NAM) where they are to design complex electronic circuits, PCB drawings, identify alternative electronic components for certification requirements in North America and perform testing of EVSE equipment with third-party equipment for compatibility.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

·Design and Build EV Charging Stations

·Provide input into electrical engineering design for electric vehicle charging station projects. Design includes development of one-line diagrams through schematic design and contract document development.

·Develop and review complex electronic circuits.

·Develop and review engineering design plans, technical specifications, cost estimates, and construction documents at various design milestones for electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE).

·Preparation and review of PCB drawings Provide technical guidance and assistance to team, clients, and technical personnel.

·Certification of products to FCC and electrical safety standards (UL, IEC, etc.).

·Provide technical delivery and task support on projects.

·Participate in design reviews with various stakeholders including governing and permitting agencies.

·Conduct work sessions at the project sites with the Project Manager and other disciplines.

·Review electrical documents for areas of conflict with all disciplines.

·Coordinate closely with other engineers to develop a complete design package for electric vehicle charging stations.

·Provide construction phase technical support including bid addenda, submittal reviews, Requests for Information (RFI), Construction Progress Reports (CPR) and change orders, and incorporate agreed-upon changes into the project documents, as needed.

·Conduct quality assurance/quality control on the work of other electrical engineers, electrical designers, or technicians.

·Participate in meetings with clients, contractors, and vendors to support business development and project execution.

·Coordinate project workload to deliver documents on schedule.

·Provide demonstrable technical writing/editing, commitment to quality in work products, excellent written and verbal communications skills.

Skills & Requirements

• In-depth PCB design and schematic capture
• Basic knowledge of programming languages C and Python.
• Knowledge of Advanced Metering Infrastructure systems and metering hardware is a plus.
• Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in Electrical Services.
• Knowledge of modern network protocols and principles is an advantage
• 7+ Years of Commercial, Utility and Industrial Electrical Design experience.
• BS EE or related technical engineering degree
• Experience getting products certified for the North American Market - UL, Energy Star
• Hands-on experience in the design & build of EV Charging Stations
• Foreign languages are an advantage.
• Knowledge of Altium Designer (PCB Design Software) is an advantage.
• Excellent knowledge of CAD tools for creating schematics and layouts
• Low, Medium and High Voltage design experience.
• Experience with the preparation and maintenance of documentation preparation.
