Electrical Engineer III

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (include But Are Not Limited To)

• Develop electrical embedded systems for electro-mechanical devices.
• Generate documentation for developed firmware and/or hardware solutions.
• Firmware development utilizing programmable hardware and microcontrollers interfacing with analog and digital sensors, user interface display and controls, motor control, and electro-pneumatic systems control with pressure feedback.
• Review and evaluation of product design through informal and formal design reviews as well as through design verification test plans and reports.
• When required, support manufacturing personnel with product electronic troubleshooting?
• Evaluate product non-conformances and implement design improvements.
• Develop test and diagnostics software to support bench testing and field service.
• Perform electrical component selection and create PCB schematics for prototype, test and system designs through final release. May also oversee or perform PCBA layout.
• Develop firmware and/or hardware solutions that meet product design specifications.

Qualifications And Education Requirements

• Experience with analog & digital circuit design and sensor integration
• Experience programming ARM and PIC microcontrollers
• Firmware and software experience using programming languages such as C, C++, and Python
• Familiarity with the Medical Device Directive/Regulation (MDD/MDR), ISO 13485, FDA design controls, or similar medical device regulatory requirements is a plus.
• Experience with communication protocols, such as I2C, SPI, USB, RS-232
• Ability to utilize electrical CAD packages for schematic entry, such as Altium, EAGLE or similar.
• Systems engineering experience covering electrical hardware, power, system interconnection, and user interface.
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent disciplines
• Testing and troubleshooting experience utilizing multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic, and spectrum analyzers
• Experience with power management (AC and battery power) for low-voltage devices
• Five years relevant experience in electronic firmware and hardware design
