About The Team


As a part of Walmart Global Tech, you'll design digital products that deliver exceptional experiences for Walmart associates. The tools that we build digitally enable users, improve efficiency, and help our fellow associates make more data-informed decisions for their teams and the business. If you are the type of person who is passionate about design, enjoys solving complex problems, operates with intention, delivers for the user, knows how to build trust and strong relationships, who leads by example, inspires the UX team to raise the bar on design for the entire team - then our Senior Creative Director position could be for you. The ideal candidate will be an experienced UX/UI Design leader, who advocates for the user, exudes experience and confidence in their work, communicates design standards with influence, executes design ideas, lead discussions, and manages stakeholder relationships.


As a Senior Creative Director, you'll set the vision for the best associate experience and create a space for cross-functional colleagues to collaborate. You will use your knowledge of the Design Thinking process to collaborate with partner teams, facilitate conversations, create concepts, run design sprints, and build rapid prototypes to leverage the collective creativity. You'll employ your great strengths in storytelling to present your vision and product design rationale in a compelling, convincing manner to cross-functional partners and the leadership team. While working with partners to determine a shared plan forward that balances business and technology considerations, you will create and champion an experience that is highly usable before delivering pixel-perfect designs. You'll provide constructive criticism and help other members of the UX team execute their projects with excellence-through ideation and design-assisting them with their deliverables and raising the quality of all deliverables.

You Will Make An Impact By


  • Working quickly and efficiently without sacrificing quality and knowing how to adapt to the ever-changing priorities of the Omnichannel business. Capable of working on multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced environment, ensuring that quality deliverables are achieved on time.
  • Leveraging design best practices when creating user flows, mockups, prototypes, workshop documents, and hand-off files
  • Mentoring Senior Designers, Associate Designers, Designers and Apprentice Designers in UX/UI design methodology and principles as well as providing guidance on project-based design tasks
  • Bringing expertise and standards to solving problems and delivering value for our users
  • Using various communication methods to convey data-driven design decisions, document design engagements, share information, and work towards alignment and mutual understanding
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest industry news and developments.
  • Building collaborative relationships with key partners by driving priorities aligned to business goals, communicating and prioritizing design efforts, and gaining buy-in from executive leadership
  • Building a team environment by collaborating closely within our team and cross-functionally with our partners across the business
  • Having exceptional communication & presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Contributing to team processes and standards to help establish best practices for design & research.
  • Defining vision and strategies for each project through domain expertise, internal and external best practices, and by identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation
  • Providing overall direction by analyzing business objectives and customer needs


Qualifications
  • Experience creating and handing off designs in design software (Figma preferred).
  • OR UX certification (example: Nielson Norman) and 10 years industry/related experience
  • Bachelor's degree in design related field and 10 years industry/related experience
  • Sound business judgment and ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, scope technical requirements, and prioritize.
  • Experience:
  • OR Master's Degree and 7 years industry/related experience
  • OR 12 years industry/related experience
  • Must be able and willing to think and act strategically and tactically
  • Strong ability to communicate UX design decisions and UX best practices
  • Fantastic portfolio of elegant design solutions
  • Be knowledgeable of current ADA/inclusivity standards and able to apply them.
  • Experience working with multiple team members and stakeholders (business, product, engineering)

Minimum Qualifications...


Outlined below are the required minimum qualifications for this position. If none are listed, there are no minimum qualifications.


Option 1: Bachelor's degree in UI/UX design, graphic design, visual communication, product design, computer science, information technology, or related area and 7 years' experience in UI/UX, interactive and visual design, electronics art, multimedia design, or related area. Option 2: 9 years' experience in UI/UX, interactive and visual design, electronics art, multimedia design, or related area.


4 years' supervisory experience.
