Position Summary:

Are you a results-oriented investment professional who has experience investing in and deploying infrastructure in capital-intensive industries? EVgo is hiring a Senior Director of Strategic Finance reporting to the Vice President of Strategy, Analytics, and Network Planning. You will shape the most important business and financial decisions facing EVgo. The Senior Director of Strategic Finance will work closely with EVgo C-level executives to chart EVgo’s growth. You will support the Business Development organization in modeling and structuring deals with OEMs, fleet and rideshare companies, and other partners. You will also partner with business owners in Asset Management, Energy Management, and Marketing to identify opportunities to grow the business and streamline processes through detailed analytics and an intimate understanding of these functional areas.

The Director of Strategic Finance will lead a growing team of financial professionals that are responsible for all underwriting and investment at EVgo. The team develops innovative financial and commercial strategies and collaborates cross-functionally with a consultative approach. EVgo team members act with agility, accountability, and integrity to drive results. Responsibilities: 

• Required Skills and Experience: 
• Evaluate and develop new-to-the-industry business models and solutions.
• Asks the right questions to scope analytical projects to deliver valuable insight
• Lead evaluation of new business and capital investment opportunities.
• Lead a team of high-performing individual contributors. Provide vision, coaching, training, and career development.
• Develop the overarching strategy to manage electricity costs, the largest line item in the P&L. This strategy will include procurement, bill management, cost assurance, load management, storage, and demand shaping.
• Inform customer and partner segmentation and prioritization.
• Shape a cohesive narrative and present it regularly to functional leaders, the CEO and CFO, and Board members.
• Underwrite EVgo’s investment in public and private charging stations and maintain the financial viability of the network plan.
• Provide commercial support and thought leadership for the Business Development organization.
• Partner with business owners to develop implementation plans to turn analysis into execution.
• Oversee regular and deep-dive analysis of the most important areas of the business, including network utilization, pricing, electricity costs, and asset management.
• Maintain the company’s long-term financial plan to drive both internal and external growth targets.

8-12 years of relevant experience below:

• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Experience leading a high-performing team of financial professionals.
• Skilled in financial modeling and investment underwriting.
• Excellent at developing and delivering presentations to C-level executives.
• Experience in capital-intensive industries preferred, particularly utility or clean energy infrastructure.
• Proficient at analyzing data and summarizing.
• Investment banking, corporate development, and/or management consulting experience is preferred.
• Creative, solutions-oriented thinker.

For job positions in CA, CO, and NYC, the estimated salary range for a new hire in this position is $190,000 USD to $225,000 USD. Actual salary may vary depending on job-related factors, which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition to a competitive base salary, discretionary target cash bonus, and restricted stock units (subject to Board Approval).
