Job Description

Molecular Search are currently partnered with an exciting Biologics CDMO in the search for a highly skilled Senior Director of Operations.


With a huge growth phase in the works, our client are looking for this person to oversee operational activities within their state-of-the-art facility, ensuring efficient and effective execution of projects whilst being at the forefront of the organisations expansion.


Responsibilities:


Operational Leadership:

  • Develop and implement operational plans, policies, and procedures to drive efficiency, productivity, and quality throughout the organization.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies.
  • Provide strategic direction and hands-on leadership to the operations team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Project Management:

  • Oversee all aspects of project execution, including planning, resource allocation, timelines, and budgets, to ensure successful completion of deliverables.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks and bottlenecks, implementing proactive measures to maintain project timelines and meet customer expectations.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, and R&D, to ensure seamless project integration and efficient workflows.

Operational Excellence:

  • Champion a culture of operational excellence, fostering a mindset of innovation and driving the implementation of new technologies and methodologies.
  • Implement best practices, benchmark performance metrics, and establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and improve operational performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and optimize resource utilization.

Team Development:

  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting employee engagement, professional growth, and talent retention.
  • Recruit, develop, and mentor a high-performing operations team, providing coaching and guidance to enhance individual and team performance.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, set goals, and provide constructive feedback to drive continuous development and performance excellence.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, regulatory agencies, and vendors, to ensure effective communication, alignment of objectives, and timely resolution of issues.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for clients, addressing their needs, providing project updates, and ensuring customer satisfaction.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a scientific or engineering discipline. An advanced degree or MBA is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior operational leadership role within a Biologics Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) or related industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects within a matrix organization.
  • Proven track record of driving operational excellence, process optimization, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams, build relationships, and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively present complex information to diverse audiences.
  • Strong knowledge of biologics manufacturing processes, cGMP regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, and decision-making capabilities.
