Compensation: $115,000 - $155,000 / year


Description


The Jed Foundation (JED) is seeking an experienced and creative Senior Director of Marketing & Campaigns. Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Youth Strategies/Chief Engagement Officer and working collaboratively across teams, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies, campaigns, and initiatives to increase awareness of JED, drive programmatic growth, help to meet our impact goals, and support overall revenue growth.


Key Responsibilities


  • Foster a learning culture with a lens on balancing proven activities with innovation and a test-and-learn ethos.
  • Manage the marketing budget and allocate resources to different marketing initiatives.
  • Help to support JED brand awareness and activities.
  • Build and mentor a strong marketing team, and develop team members to ensure they have the skills and resources necessary to succeed.
  • Direct email efforts, working closely with Development and consultants to ensure growth while also building out efforts to support additional audiences and objectives.
  • Drive JED’s social impact campaign efforts, including Seize the Awkward, our signature “help-giving” campaign in partnership with the American Foundation of Suicide Prevention and the Ad Council, key cultural moments like Mental Health Awareness Month, Minority Mental Health Awareness Month, Back to School, and Suicide Prevention Awareness Month as well as year-round activations.
  • Ensure our marketing and campaign efforts are inclusive and meet accessibility requirements.
  • Work closely with JED Academic Programs to drive engagement in JED High School, JED District, JED Campus, and other programming, including conducting marketing research, developing product positioning and a suite of materials, enacting a variety of activities along the marketing funnel, supporting onboarding and positive experiences, and measuring results.
  • Collaborate closely with digital product, social, and other teams to ensure platforms meet marketing needs, and craft landing pages, user journeys, and promotions that convert against goals.
  • Manage donated and paid marketing efforts, working with consultants, as needed, to maximize search, social, and other advertising efforts.
  • Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to ensure innovative and effective marketing strategies and tactics.
  • Develop and execute marketing strategies in collaboration with key organizational stakeholders, including setting goals, identifying target audiences, determining key messaging, and developing tactics and channels to reach those audiences.
  • Support the development and launch of new JED programs and services, working closely with leadership to define audience, value proposition and thoughtfully bring them to market.


Skills Knowledge and Expertise


  • Passion for helping others and an interest/familiarity in mental health, emotional well-being, and suicide prevention.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills to effectively lead cross-functional teams and build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Facility with the tools of digital marketing–CRM, email platforms, Google Adwords, social and other advertising platforms, etc.
  • A strong track record of developing and executing successful marketing and campaign activations that drive results.
  • 7+ years of marketing and campaigns experience.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field a plus.
  • Understanding of the legal and regulatory frameworks for digital marketing.
  • Dynamic creative leadership, with experience in marketing to diverse audiences.
  • Experience with social marketing and behavior change theory and with B2B marketing to education/corporate sectors is highly desirable.
  • Facility with DEI&A principals, including accessibilty/usability.

The range listed on this job posting is based on JED's compensation posting ranges. Salaries may be higher or lower depending on experience and geographic location.


Location/Travel Information:


Please note that this position is largely remote but will require retreat/business meetings at JED’s central office in NYC or other locations as designated by JED leadership. Additional travel may be required.
