About The Team

This role is on the Design Systems team working on the core design system, which supports DoorDash’s products for customers, merchants, and dashers. This team is responsible for the themes, components, icons, and Figma tools that are used by designers and engineers across DoorDash. This role would work closely with other system designers, design technologists, and design system leadership.

About The Role

We're looking for a Senior Design Systems Designer to improve our core DoorDash design system, extending and improving our offerings to the product design team.

This includes designing new components, creating documentation, writing guidelines, designing icons, evolving our color palette, improving our Figma libraries, and much more. This role would work closely with our design technologists, supporting them as they translate these designs into code for iOS, Android, and Web.

You will report into the Design System Manager on our Design Infrastructure team in our Product Design organization.

• Define design patterns and document them for reusability by product designers across DoorDash.
• Extend the design system component library by designing new components iOS, Android, and Web.
• Help evolve the visual design language of the apps, extending the DoorDash brand.
• Guide product designers to use the design system to the fullest extent, leveraging existing patterns and extending them when necessary.
• Facilitate contributions from product designers to our design system. You will review and give them feedback on their contributions, helping teach product designers about systems thinking.

• 4+ years of experience as a product designer or design system designer, working on mobile and web applications.
• You have excellent visual design skills. You care about every detail being right.

• You think about how your designs will be implemented, and can collaborate with design technologists to add new features to the system.

Compensation

The location-specific base salary range for this position is listed below. Compensation in other geographies may vary.

Actual compensation within the pay range will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location. For roles that are available to be filled remotely, base salary is localized according to employee work location. Please discuss your intended work location with your recruiter for more information.

California Pay Range:

$161,500—$218,500 USD

New York Pay Range:

$161,500—$218,500 USD

Washington Pay Range:

$161,500—$218,500 USD
