Job Description
Summary The Senior Contracts Manager is an individual contributor that develops practical and innovative ways to identify and meet assigned goals. In this role, you will be responsible for work that is less defined in scope in certain areas and will rely heavily on your understanding and experience to execute business objectives, with the ability to affect and effect short- and long-term business goals.


This position will involve working in support of US Government contracts (either as a prime contractor or subcontractor), and the position requires solid proficiency in managing various contract types (including complex development) in both the Firm Fixed Price Contracts and the Cost Reimbursement Group, as described in the Federal Acquisition Regulations.

Essential Functions / Responsibilities


  • Support proposal development through creating winning strategies
  • Must have the confidence and the ability to work on your own, utilizing your skills to execute business objectives, supporting both internal project offices and customers
  • Responsibilities cover the entire contracting lifecycle, from receipt of solicitation through contract close-out.
  • Mentor other contracts staff members, and internal clients on contracting topics, risky terms, etc.
  • Assess solicitations identifying business and compliance risks
  • Ability to work well and cohesively with others, describe terms and conditions risks and offer mitigation ideas, lead negotiations, and partner with program managers, engineers, and others in the process of offering compliant solutions to contracting requirements
  • Negotiate primarily with the DoD, and higher-tier contractors


Qualifications/requirements


  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
  • Proficiency with Excel, Power Point, and Word
  • Solid domain expertise with commercial terms and conditions, Federal Acquisition Regulations, with emphasis in Parts 12 Acquisition of Commercial Items and 15 Contracting by Negotiation, and DoD FAR Supplement
  • At least 8-10 years of experience in government or international contract formation and execution.

This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.
