Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization

Develop industry leading creative solutions for the adidas/FEAR OF GOD footwear creation team aligned with the FEAR OF GOD ATHLETICS creative vision. In collaboration with the entire Product Creation Team, the goal is to lead in color expertise, exploration, application and strategy collaboratively with team of direct reports. Maintain and grow the color design direction harmoniously across key categories, in line with direction of Senior Design Leader(s) and the FEAR OF GOD partnership.

Key Responsibilities

Creatively lead new ways to bring the FEAR OF GOD ATHLETICS color vision to life on key Franchises and Future projects

Lead in palette creation, seasonal research, design presentations: physical and digital

Manage high level of detail within key franchises (color matching capabilities, multi-round sample reviews, swatches, development details)

Lead team in efficient color strategy across key franchises and new models

Manage a team of direct reports, while overseeing teams workload, allocation, prioritization and lead in meeting all deadlines

Create technical color CADs and supporting documents for design projects

Deliver/present color CAD handovers to the cross-functional team

Work closely with Product Creation Team to kick-off color work and track samples for product review

Collaborate closely with the Material, 3D, and Footwear Design team

Engage with Creative Teams across the adidas/FEAR OF GOD organization

Travel to work with the sample room team/ factories (as needed)

Support the Design team when setting up for FEAR OF GOD partner design review sessions

Ability to lead a team through complex and ambiguous projects while maintaining positivity, productivity, and speed

Ability to design for new initiatives and products with a fresh, innovative perspective

Ability and desire to push themselves, others, and the brand forward

High level understanding of the product creation process

Experienced knowledge of footwear color, materials, construction, and production

Strong color CAD tech pack efficiency

Strong knowledge and use of Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator)

Color analysis skillset for sample achievability, direction and communication

Color exploration skills

Color exploration through 3D programs (not required, but beneficial)

Experienced presentation and communication skills

High level of creativity, initiative, productive critiquing, mentoring & maturity

High level of organization and detailed problem solving skills

Ability to work with teammates on the ground and in remote locations

Team first mindset

Fluent in English (spoken and written)

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a college or university in a relevant Design subject or equivalent combination of education and experience

6 years of practical experience in design environment
